hey John A very nice build/design i look forward to being able to have a go at building this i like the idea of being able to print smaller blocks rather than larger pieces so if you have a failed print for whatever reason its not a big piece that is going to be discarded i look forward to seeing more from you matey stay calm and carry on printing big jayby big jay - Delta Machines
ahh nice sounds like you are well on the way to being sorted ive upped my current to the stepper slightly and made a fan mount with 50mm fan to cool the stepper drivers hopefully this will fix the issue i am suspecting the motor may be failing although there isnt a lot to go wrong inside a stepper im sure it can happen oh and an aside ive swapped 2 stepper drivers around and still got the shiby big jay - General Mendel Topics
oops sorry lol well i still have the shifting layers thing hohum now my stepper board is getting hot to the touch not ow its burning hot but definately hotter than it was damnit lol whats frustrating is there doesnt seem to be a particular point that it misses and there arent any obvious signs its missed till you see a layer offset which tbh for a 4 hour print i dont want to be hovering over myby big jay - General Mendel Topics
nah trust me my belts are definately tight enough that said to the OP its worth just making sure that they are nice and tight ive tweaked my trimpot up over al ittle bit and that seems to have fixed the issue well at th emoment it does lol my motor is just about lukewarm when doing a print n the stepper driver heatsink is about the same maybe a touch warmer but not much fingers crossed when iby big jay - General Mendel Topics
ive had/ am still having a similar problem myself ive found its the stepper driver board trimpot needs adjusting the problem im finding is you get the same issue of missing steps from both sides of the problem if your trim is set to low (not enough amps) then your motor can miss steps if its set to high (to many amps) the stepstick can overheat and miss steps im assuming there is an easy way oby big jay - General Mendel Topics
just measured mine across a selection of points along the filament 2.9 consistently and printed mine on a 30 deg c bed at 185 deg c hotend and seems to be okay so far im printing directly onto the back of an ikea mirror tile with no additives other than cleaning with acetone and yeah had some nice prints ive only had a slight lift on my biggest piece so far which is one of the baseplates for aby big jay - General
hey there guys yeah ive bought the glow in the dark blue pla from them a very good price it prints very well and glows pretty well too my only issue so far is as im getting to the middle of the reel the filament is getting stiffer to wind off which imho isnt a really bad problem just means i have to keep an eye on it which i tend to do anyway happy printing all big jay ooh another upgrade fby big jay - General
