From what I have seen from a while back was to the center of the build plate but others may have it setup differently. The motion of the arms is what will determine the build shape of the base of the build area volume a 1:2 was said to get you the optimum build size and as you veer away from it it will change the shape to a more triangular shape reducing the build volume. This should be the onlyby tesseract - Delta Machines
No the arm length should be "about" double the RADIUS of the circular build plate that is for optimum design. Think of it this way take the position of the arm where it mounts to the vertical piece and make a line straight down where this line meets the build plate is the end point of the radius measurement the start of course is the center of the circular build plate. Double this number and thatby tesseract - Delta Machines
The basic rule of thumb is a 1:2 ratio, radius of build plate : arm length. So if you have 6 inch radius the arm length will be best at 12 inches This allows for the largest build volume and will achieve the most circular of build areas, as this ratio veers away from the 1:2 ratio in either aspect the more triangular the build area becomes The overall height simply needs to be the arm length plby tesseract - Delta Machines
Anyone understand why I get this when I connect to the 3dr when using repetier 1 command waiting WAITING FOR TEMPERATURE I am connected I am communicating commands prior to are successfully completed LCD functions and I can see and set and adjust temp via the LCD but not in repetier So how come the ramps card see the signal and give it to the LCD but repetier can't seem to get itby tesseract - Delta Machines
if that were the case how would the motors be, meaning they may not extrude but would I be able to be turn the shaft by hand without any resistance or would it be hard to move?by tesseract - Delta Machines
HI Andy your firmware has gotten me the closest I believe the movements all work from the LCD but the I can't get past the last command when I connect via the computer my status bar show 1 command waiting WAITING FOR TEMPERATURE if I could get past this point then I may be able to throw in the M302 command as you stated but I can't add the command via the LCD thisby tesseract - Delta Machines
I am also having firmware issues what was it you got working and what was in the Gcode I have something strange going on I built the 3dr following Rich's blogs but when I tried to use the firmware he had posted after doing a Home any movement started from the LCD result in the motors really freaking out to would move very rapidly and one would go slow causing the extruder platform to slam into tby tesseract - Delta Machines
Some additional data I saw some thing that caught my attention I uploaded firmware that was no to be good from my mac to my second printer and lo and behold I saw the numbers again on this printer and was confused because it was working previously just fine I also connected through arduino and the dev/tty. device and I saw the funky extruders I tried connecting to the dev/cu device and it all waby tesseract - Delta Machines
Hey guys still having issues with my mysterious extruders any ideas Notice the status bar each time I re boot the firmware I get a new extruder It seems like it is functioning correctly except the the boards does not seem to know what the temp is I can not get my extruder motore to start i heat the extruder to whewre it shows 180C and still no motion from the extruder motorby tesseract - Delta Machines
I thought about that but I brought the extruder temp up to I think about 180C so it should have kicked on but I will double check that as wellby tesseract - Delta Machines
Your experience is exactly what I saw happening to mine in every aspect that you mentioned I have been at a standstill for over a week trying to figure it out my last iteration was to use ANDYs working profile and install that once i did that all my motion motors seemed to be operating as they should but may still be incorrect as I am not used to how the delta printers are supposed to move but Iby tesseract - Delta Machines
got a strange one here everytime I reset the firmware or make a connection I seem to get another extruder I only have one but the first pic show what I get when I connect ====an extra exturder and the second pic shows what happens when I hit the reset button again ====another extra extruder Any idea what it means when you see you see a long number like that designated as an extruderby tesseract - Repetier
Hey guys This is just to show you want I see each time I hit the reset button on my LCD Never knew it was so easy to add extruders I just thought of something is there something in the firmware code that is expecting a certain type of extruder I am using the E3D and I have seen lines referring to the PRUSA J type could this be an issue of some type functionally they should be theby tesseract - Delta Machines
Hey Andy any idea why I keep getting new extruders popping up each time I rest thing i get the regular one and then first pass I get another one as well this is labeled 35434563234 186.7/200.0 and its current temp value is changing just like Extruder is if I reset those two show back up and I get a third and so on and so onby tesseract - Delta Machines
Thank you Andy very much My 3dr is much further along now. autohome works fine from the LCD as do the movements of X Y and Z up and down and the same from Repetier. The one thing I did notice and not sure what this means but when I power on the unit and connect in Repetier I showthe normal extruder 1 what it currently is and what it is set to and normally I would see the bed settings right afterby tesseract - Delta Machines
HI Andy and HaDe, I am still in the build I have so many different versions of firmware going around I am not sure what is what any more. Would it be possible to get either you to actually zip up your firmware folder and attach it or send it to me. I recently tried Eriks firmware and per Andy's suggestion and replaced teh config and config_adv.h files with the ones in the delta folder and compby tesseract - Delta Machines
I have not seen any repetier settings so I am not sure how to set up anything if anyone has a thread regarding that or something they can share it will be greatly appreciated. I am still on the new side of working with github and getting all the packages I need, so I may have a slight issue there. Here is what I did I followed the link from Rich to his marlin firmware setup git page and I downlby tesseract - Delta Machines
Ha De, thank you so much for the answer to that part of it. I think I will be looking the options now that I know what the issue is. Any idea on the E0 E1 E2 motor not responding?? Thanks again Tesseractby tesseract - Delta Machines
Yes Ha De Those are the three issues. I have tried alternate cables along of a length of about 6 feet but will keep checking into it What you see in the video is me trying to issue commands from the LCD controller the two things that I see it can do correctly is identify the firmware used and display and the homeing process. After that nothing else seems to work. In the video you see me tryingby tesseract - Delta Machines
Hello Rich Thank you for releasing such a nice printer I am partially through my build and enjoying it a lot so far.I am running into some issues and maybe you or someone else could provide some guidance. I currently have a few issues I have been battling and at best I am at a stalemate I have the frame built and the rumba board installed and this is what I see I have a very difficult time conby tesseract - Delta Machines
I have been working with Repetier-Host on my MAc for a few weeks and I do say it works well. One thing I was hoping for in future version would be the ability to remove a specific print from an active print job containing multiple prints. I have run into this several times and I wish I could do this. For example I twelve iterations of the same piece and the print job is going fine all twelve arby tesseract - Repetier
