Thank you Viktor, there will be so many questions coming up. Ralphby Ralphxyz - Laser Cutter Working Group
I am a brand new 10 watt CO2 laser owner, well I bought one but it is still in the mail. I am brand new to anything concerning lasers. I am "thinking" of building a enclosure, would acrilic or transparent plastic be safe for construction? I'd like to be able to see the laser working. I have the safety glasses ordered for the laser, for my own use but what about other people. If I make the enclby Ralphxyz - Laser Cutter Working Group
This was a third of the way through the print on layer ~17. But I went back and checked and you are correct first layer 240C other layers 225C. If it had failed on layer 2, I would have guessed that was the problem but it waited for layer 17 to show up. Thank you fixed it now on to my next problems.by Ralphxyz - Slic3r
I was a third of the way through an ABS print at 240C when the temperature dropped to 225C jamming the extruder. Here is the offending G-Code: 295 G1 X88.045 Y113.696 E74.47561 296 G1 X87.204 Y113.696 E74.51719 297 G1 X86.304 Y112.796 E74.58017 298 G1 X86.304 Y113.637 E74.62175 299 G1 X86.363 Y113.696 E74.62591 300 M104 S225 ; set temperature 301 G1 Z0.412 F7800.000 302 G1 F1800.000 E7by Ralphxyz - Slic3r
So is the above post the last word on this subject? Can I drop this thread from my daily read? Ralphby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
And what exactly is OSHW, sorry but some of us (especially me) do not know the acronyms used so often here in the Reprap forum. I was taught that one should always define an acronym on first usage, just for ignorant souls such as myself. I really like to understand what you are talking about. Ralphby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
Quoteowens Quotesgraber What is meant is you warm the bearing to the point that when you insert it into the bearing hole that it melts the plastic a bit so it slides into the hole. I haven't tried that trick with bearings, though I've done it in combination with heating the plastic to get the pulleys onto the motor shafts; if the shaft isn't warm it tends to freeze the pulley in place before it'by Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
Quotenicholas.seward I put the part in an oven on low. I take it out every minute and hit it against a hard surface. When the tap turns to a thud you are ready to insert the bearings. I have heard reports that you can do this also by heating a bearing with a hot plate or heating the part with boiling water. Heating the part until you get a thud I can understand but but "expanding" the the beaby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
Nicholas, could you please do a drawing of the string path? Ralphby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
But what would you use for a extruder hot end on a big Simpson? Your layer height would have to be in inches. Ralphby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
Nicholas, do you know where you booth will be at the New York Maker Faire?? I want to make sure and meet you and to see Wally and GUS Simpson. I'll be there on Sunday. Ralphby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
If one were really worried about crushing fingers or sand and gummy bears you could make up a acrylic bell cover. Ralphby Ralphxyz - Delta Machines
