Quotevreihen @jmf - My response was to them in response to them asking for someone else's Repetier EEPROM settings, *not* a criticism of anything you posted..... No problems, I'm a noob at this stuff and am always learning from you guys. I see your awesome replies and how you're helping others a lot with your knowledge, that's really cool and much appreciated !by jmf - Delta Machines
I only gave my firmware files as reference, to possibly find some obvious mistake, that's all, I know it's pointless otherwise....thanks.by jmf - Delta Machines
From the pictures I see no obvious problems, are the towers perpendicular and 90 degrees to the build surface, are they spaced evenly from each other at 120 degrees, what firmware are you using. Double check all the delta offsets. I've attached my configuration.h and configuration_adv.h files in case you are using Marlin firmware, this is my setup for my delta which works perfectly.by jmf - Delta Machines
Hi all, I've been needing a good bowden extruder for my delta and was unable to find one I liked, so I made my own 2 to 1 ratio belt driven extruder for 1.75mm filament. This extruder is basically some ideas from others out there with some modifications that I added. The extruder comes with a Nema 17 KL17H248-15-4A stepper, 76 oz-in, and a built in 40mm cooling fan. After many adjustments andby jmf - For Sale
Quotebigfilsing Hi all Just building a mini kossel now. Does this happen with all LCD attachments to ramps or is it just the full graphics version ?? Thanks I'm not sure on that one either, anyone else know ?by jmf - Delta Machines
Quoteboksbox Before you do that, try this - reduce the DELTA_SEGMENTS_PER_SECOND to 80 in your firmware. See if there's any improvement in stuttering or hiccups. boksbox, I did that and it was like night and day, not one stutter since, and I have not had one print failure since I took off the display. Thanks !!by jmf - Delta Machines
Good link, that will keep me busy for a while, the more I'm checking into the CoreXY the more I want to build it.by jmf - General
Zavashier, thanks for the link.. Ohmarinus, the CoreXY system looks like the one for me, I love fun, fun, fun....LOL !by jmf - General
Both designs look like fun to build and both look like they may have some advantages or disadvantages, I think I'm gonna try the CoreXY though, that one does look really cool.by jmf - General
Quotetriplanedave Agree with JMF here. I have some push-fits that have only 3 or 4 clamping "blades" in them that hold the PTFE tubing in place. The blades seem to break easily if the push-fit quality is questionable. Honestly, unless you're getting a good quality push-fit, consider these things consumables. Buy a few extra. I can't speak to the ones with the Ebay link, but they look like thby jmf - Delta Machines
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to do some research on this printer, some of the designs look really cool. Why is it called CoreXY, just curious ?by jmf - General
I finally have my Delta printer up and running smoothly, I have a lot of extra parts and now I want to build another non-delta printer. What is a popular printer out there, what type would be a good next printer project ? Thanks, Johnby jmf - General
Quotevreihen Smoothie for the win..... Yeah, I will be transitioning over to the smoothie asap...by jmf - Delta Machines
Thank you Dougal1957, this was driving me nuts, I will start reading up on the smoothie board and change it over. UPDATE: Yeeeha, that was it ! I just finished a 4 hour print without one hiccup, thanks again Dougal1957by jmf - Delta Machines
Quotedougal1957 There's your answer it is a fairly well known fact that adding a full graphics controller onto 8 bit control boards when coupled with a delta causes drop out. The Mega 2560 based boards can't cope with the extra processing that is required. Doug WOW, that's exactly what seems to be happening. I'm disconnecting right now and change the firmware file to disable it. I never knewby jmf - Delta Machines
Quotedougal1957 Quotejmf Here's a new one, I was printing this morning, all was well then it printed almost an entire layer at like zero speed, it was moving but barely, then it started printing normally again ??? Do you by any chance have a full graphics LCD Display fitted and I am assuming here that you are using a Ramps setup? Doug Yes, I am using the full graphics with a Rambo board.by jmf - Delta Machines

boksbox - thanks, I understand, yes I have been checking it with Repetier. vreihen - Yes, I am using belts and pulleys and they do seem a bit tight, I'm new to this but how would tight belts affect the print, I have not tuned my steppers, not sure how to do that ? Thanks Johnby jmf - Delta Machines
I use these from Ebay and they are excellent.by jmf - Delta Machines
boksbox - Yes I am using slic3r, not sure what you mean by checking the gcode, is this done in slic3r ?by jmf - Delta Machines
Lately it seems like I have more print failures due to the printer making some kind of strange move, like burying the head into the material, raising the head and continues to print, sometimes it just goes out in one direction for no reason then returns to the print and continues to print. This is starting to bug me, I have no idea why this is happening, is it bad gcode, or something wrong withby jmf - Delta Machines
dougal1957 - That's a very nice looking multimeter/probe, I'm located in NE Ohio. Thanks for the idea, I'll check out Ebay asap..by jmf - Delta Machines
d3delta3d, dougal1957 - thanks for the clarification, I also have a smoothieboard waiting in the wings for another 3d printer project or I may put it into the current delta I am running with a Rambo board. vreihen - Yeah, it's an IR gun, they really are useless for pinpoint temp readings, I wonder if there is a better way to verify actual hotend temperatures without relying solely on the thermisby jmf - Delta Machines
d3delta3d, Thanks for your input I really appreciate all the information I can get, I'm not sure what you mean by the K number in firmware and why you changed the number, I'm using Marlin. That's a nice looking extruder in the link.by jmf - Delta Machines
Very nice doc ! Thanks for your time and effort !!by jmf - Delta Machines
dc42 - That's what I'm beginning to think, I'm checking config right now. I'm using a temp gun on the hot end and it's not even close to what I'm thinking it should be, are temp guns an accurate way of reading the hot end temps? I increased to 220c and it seems much better, I'll keep experimenting a bit, the extruder wasn't working as hard either.by jmf - Delta Machines
QuoteReplace I get delamination in PLA on both of my printers below 225 degrees In fact, my best bonding and accuratesse is between 235 end 240 Thomas Thanks, I'll give the higher temps a try.. Johnby jmf - Delta Machines
Quotevreihen I think that it's just you. Everyone else's printers here went together without a hitch, and mine didn't even need calibration! Seriously though, we all get frustrated at times, and most of us probably have a pile of printer parts that didn't work out for one reason or another. Take a step back, take a break, and look at every problem with a fresh perspective as they pop up.....by jmf - Delta Machines
