Have you tested the endstops using M119? Do you have the voltage set correctly for the endstops, either 3.3v or 5v?by etfrench - General
The AS5600 is only 0-360 degrees. Don't you need an incremental encoder like AS5247?by etfrench - General
Why not just turn your current printer upside down, then you can see what the problems are and then design the new printer.by etfrench - General
Biggest and best may not be the same. It will also depend on which continent you're closest to. There are lots of different colors available from the manufacturers. You can also have them anodized or powder coated in any color. Paint usually doesn't work very well without a thorough preparation because aluminum oxidizes very fast and paint doesn't stick well to the oxide. You should go to eachby etfrench - Delta Machines

Water or liquid cooling would be the best method. I can't tell you if it's been invented for silent stepstick driversby etfrench - Reprappers
I'm using these .9deg steppers from StepperOnline and they don't have any trouble reaching 300mm/sec with a 12V power supply. The controller is AZSMZ and is using DRV8825s hardwired (unfortunately) to 32 microsteps.by etfrench - Delta Machines

Quoteipcalit Here is another idea inspired by these two: 1) thread the shaft of a tiny stepper (1-2Ncm is probably enough, <50g) with something between an M3-M5 2) make grooves with the corresponding tap (M3-M5) into the outside of a small bearing (e.g, 623, 624) I doubt you would be able to use a tap as a hob on a bearing. The bearing will probably be harder then the tap You could hob aby etfrench - General
Resolution on the motor is theoretically higher than on a linear strip. It will have some backlash, but this can be minimized in the design and may also be handled in software. If belts slip, it is a defective design.by etfrench - General
How are opinions scientific?by etfrench - General
I'm not sure why you would want to ungroup them, but one way of ensuring they stay in the same relationship is to add a tiny connection between them in CAD. A better way would be to make a copy in CAD and combine all of the pieces of the copy. p.s. The bolt and the nut are on the same side of the clevis, so they may not stay in position.by etfrench - General
Create it as one stl in the CAD software. It should stay that way in the slicer.by etfrench - General

Don't mind me, I'm just starting to learn how to design PCBsby etfrench - General
One more question, are you planning on using 2 oz boards? The traces seem kind of small for 2 amps with a 1 oz board.by etfrench - General
Some boards not only tie the reset and sleep pins together but also connect them directly to V+, so they may not be able to use the Servolulu. Can you rearrange the board to accommodate this type of board? Cramps is one such board. Since it is based on Ramps, there must be more like it.by etfrench - General

Visual Studio 2015 has support for the Arduino IDE as well as Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, not to mention Windows and Linux. Best part is it's free.by etfrench - General
You could try this gCode if you're using Sprinter, Marlin, or Repetier: M85: Set inactivity shutdown timer Example: M85 S30 Set inactivity shutdown timer with parameter S. "M85 S0" will disable the inactivity shutdown time (default) You could also write a macro that checks the hotend temperature, then turns off the fans, etc..by etfrench - General
QuoteEddiie Quoteetfrench M104 S0 ; turn off temperature G28 X0 ; home X axis M84 ; disable motors Thanks, I'll use these for now. But still want to turn off the FANs, lights, cameras, You will still need to wait until the hot end cools down before turning off the fans, otherwise jams will be the order of the day.by etfrench - General

Most PC's don't have real time processors, so aren't a good choice to directly drive the steppers.by etfrench - Reprappers
Measuring the exact length of the arms isn't really necessary. Having them the same length plus or minus a handful of microns is important. The formulas used during calibration (to get a level print bed) will tell you within a few microns what the length of your arms are.by etfrench - Delta Machines
Or the main board designers could put a copper clad .250" hole directly under the Pololu driver board and solder a copper cylinder in it to act as a heat sink.by etfrench - General
