Hmmm... very intriguing. My guess is, that since is is missing entire line of GCode, this must be a firmware issue... I don't think it has much to do with stepper drivers, as they only react to STEP and DIR signals, and that's all what they do. If you're missing entire line (which might be few hundred steps), it is definitely firmware-related. I would - reupload the firmware (Sprinter of courseby jawor - General

It seems we're getting some momentum here in Poland, so the time has come to set up our local sub-forum... I think it will pick up very quickly, as there is enough buzz around on the internet (in PL). I will start posting as soon as the group is set up, thanks! Hey, Can you describe how you disconnection problem looks in log file ? I was getting M105 command sent several times, then 'connection timed out' message in RepSnapper... I think it doesn't have anything to do with baud rate, but rather it's a RepSnapper issue (the version you are using) is not reading 'start' command properly from mainboard... I downloaded another version of repsnapper (Febby jawor - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Hey, I am trying to connect RepSnapper to TeaCup firmware... it seems to work (axes move), but it disconnects after few seconds.. for some reason it cannot recognize response for M105 code: 18:57:24 Send >>Connecting to port: COM16 at speed 115200 18:57:24 Send >>Sending:M105 18:57:25 Send >>Sending:M105 18:57:26 Send >>Sending:M105 18:57:27 Send >>Sending:M105by jawor - RepSnapper
Hey! I just found out that you're talking about electronics that I was selling :-) Well, yes, I just tested those drivers, and it's strange... but after re-soldering all small capacitors (ceramic ones) and legs of allegro chips, both boards started working! So it was just a cold joint somewhere. At first I also thought this is a matter of those big electrolytic capacitors, but apparently they'reby jawor - General
Hey, any luck with this ??? Actually I made it work today! Funny enough, it was probably some issue with my firewall or software.. not sure exactly, but it started working! Basically I downloaded NEW version of Arduino environment (0019), installed sanguino Again.. when I run it first time, my Firewall soft (ESET) asked for permission to allow Arduino operate (that's why I think it was an issue,by jawor - Reprappers
Hi Kevin, Well, I used AVR ISP500 programmer (and previously Arduino as ISP, as described here : ) basically, I used avrdude using this command: avrdude -c stk500v2 -P COM4 -p m644p -U flash:w:firmwareFile.hex:i (you will find firmware .hex file in c:/documents and settings/yourprofile/localsettings/temp/build... after compiling/verifying it in Arduino IDE) Hope this helps! Well... interesting discussion. Do you think it's possible to upload sketches to ATmega using anything different than stk500 protocol ? I am actually having the same problem.. I have mainboard and extruder controller, that I can program using external programmer (I used AVR ISP500, and Arduino as ISP). But then, when I try to upload firmware via Arduino, I get : avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not iby jawor - Reprappers
Hey, I got some of those manufactured for me, so I will be slowly releasing them on e-bay and through other channels.. I will sell them as either fully assembled kits, with cables (no FTDI though), or as SMT-only kits, which will be just boards with SMT components, and no firmware uploaded. First kit is on ebay now, so check it out! :-) Photos as attached Przemek J.by jawor - Vitamin Kit for Sale
Thanks John, but you're running your Mendel using DC motor driven extruder, right? For me it doesn't work, coz I have Wade's one, driven with steppers.. Unfortunately it seems that I will have to stick to RepRap host software, which is not so bad after all, but it takes longer to generate gcodes and is less intuitive (interface).by jawor - General
Ha! Indeed, it seems to be much nicer and more robust than RepRap host software, so I fully agree - ReplicatorG should be made compatible with Mendel firmware! (I am just finalizing my RepStrap Mendel with Wade's geared extruder, currently fighting configuration problems.. but getting closer every day) Przemek Jaworskiby jawor - General
