thanks thats a bummer, its really amazing how hard it is to get one of these machines running properly.by zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support
is there a calculator that can generate a new temp table if i know what the difference is between how hot the printer thinks it is and how hot it actually is? when i set my printer nozzle to 185 the actual temp is 164 I am measuring actual temps with a extech EX330 multimeter with a type k thermocouple. i think my thermisistors are 100k but they were in a junk drawer so i really have no clueby zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support

well that was it. the pins they told me to remove were the z enable and z step it all works now. thanks for the help. i think i am going to skip anything non standard for now. i really dont need another 2 months of troubleshooting something when the solution is to plug the computer in with a usb. that looks like its really nice but not something that i need at the moment. I am using rampsby zg_bot - RAMPS Electronics
well i think i just figured it out. when i bought my sdramps boards the company told me to cut the pins off the ramps boards (pins 44-55) plug the sdramps directly into the arduino then put the ramps board on top. basically they told me to cut the pins of the Z axis movement to fit that board on. not knowing anything about the pinouts i did what i was told and that was clearly a mistake. i cuby zg_bot - RAMPS Electronics
thanks i will try that out tonight and post a pic of the board. (Z is all wired up the same as the other axises and it works when i plug it into the x or y motor ports) i am not getting anything at all on the Z. i know the pololu works (swapped the chip with the X) and it drives the x no problem so the chips are ok. I dont recall changing any pin definitions (only changed board type, thermistoby zg_bot - RAMPS Electronics
thanks for the responses.. I have tested everything and everything on the machine works except the z axis on all three of my machines. i can move the Z when i plug in the motors to the X axis (its not moving to scale but its moving smoothy) and using the Z endstop on the X port (i know the z works with its endstop on all three of my ramps setups). extruder works, heaters work (bed and nozzle) tby zg_bot - RAMPS Electronics

is there any kind of test code for ramps 1.2 boards like i just found for ramps 1.4 boards?by zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support

hello I posted this in the firmware section and cant seem to get any advise or solutions. I have tested all the hardware and it all works, downloaded the newest sprinter software and can get everything to work (both heaters, both temp, x, y and extruder all work perfectly when using pronterface but nothing that i do is getting the Z axis to work. I have 3 sets of ramps boards and no matter wby zg_bot - RAMPS Electronics
is there anywhere else that i can get some help on this issue besides this forum? i dont have any strange configuration or parts in terms of the machine, i have tested all my hardware and it all works. I have the same problem on 3 separate machines. I have not changed anything except a few variables in the configuration file (board type, thermisistor types, endstops etc.) where do i go fromby zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support
thanks, tested out the z endstop and it works when its plugged into the X and in the Y (it stops the travel of the printer) it also works when i plug the z motor and z endstop into the X stepper driver (and works when the z stepper board is in the X stepper socket) all the parts are confirmed working. its something in the firmware that is not working. I get the same results when working onby zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support
i am using pronterface and a mac. i have installed and configured the sprinter firmware with a ramps 1.2 board and mega1280's. everything works (x+y motors and home switches, HBP temp/bed, nozzle temp/bed and extruder motor. I cant figure out what to change in the firmware to get the Z axis to move. I am not getting any motor noise at all. SD ramps is commented out in the firmware, i have trby zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support

hello, I have had a prusa mendel built for a while now but i cant seem to get the sprinter firmware to compile. I keep getting an error in the Sd2Card.cpp tab when i click verify. the error is "HIGH" was not declared in this scope and it highlights this line: void Sd2Card::chipSelectHigh(void) { digitalWrite(chipSelectPin_, HIGH); } I am using a mega 1280 board RAMPS 1.2, latest arduino anby zg_bot - Firmware - mainstream and related support
