Interesting. You are right that its PLA I am printing with, apologies for not including that. I had read somewhere (cannot remember where), that the PLA would start to rise if the bed was too cold, hence me switching it up a notch. Will try shifting it down to 55 (am printing onto Kapton Tape on the glass). Will try the fan duct as well.
Thanks.

Printing
Hi,
I am having issues with printing objects with a large flat bottom. I was heating the bed to 65 degrees and at the corners, it was raising up first on the furthest side from the printer, then on the max y position. Over time as the print goes on it gets worse. I tried raising the temp to 85 but it still does it.
Machine: Ormerod 2
Print size: 18 cm by 18cm
Bed Temp: 85
Extruder Temp: 20

Hi,
How do people cope with the fact that the motor is about 30cm from the extruder. Do you just discard the last piece or do you manage to push the last bit of the previous filament through with the new one? I tried to push it through but the filament was just passed the hobbed insert and the new piece would not catch to push it through. In the end I had to take the bowden tube out of the dr

Hi,
Not sure if this is a Ormerod 2 specific question or a printing question but, when I set the infill fill density to below 40% (default) I find that my gears start to skip occassionally especially on large flat pieces. Also I find that the pla starts to not stick to the layer below so I get lots of lose long strands of PLA in the middle layers. I assume this is a speed issue which can be c

Printing
Hi,
I am using an ormerod 2 and when I print pieces with gaps or separate pieces with some space in between them I get spiders webs of pla between them, not every time but every now and then. Its not a big deal cause I can pull them off and sand the edges but I wondered if there was a possible easy remedy to this?
Thanks

Here is my config I had just added the lines for G31 and M556 before this started happening. Z Probe values look normal and Z home works fine still. I am using 0.78c firmware.
; Configuration file for RepRap Ormerod 2
; RepRapPro Ltd
;
; Copy this file to config.g if you have an Ormerod 2
; If you are updating a config.g that you already have you
; may wish to go through it and this file chec

Hi,
I have started getting problems when using the auto-level code G32. After doing the levelling at the four corners the z axis then starts to move up and doesn't stop! I then have to restart the machine. What could I have done to make this happen, any thoughts? It does it whether starting from XYZ home or from a arbitrary Z value.
Thanks for your help,
Tom

Hi,
Does the bed temp line in the chart in pronterface work for anyone? I am running with the version from the reprappro git repo and the line for the nozzle temp works but the bed temp line stays flat even through the temp is increasing as expected.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks

Hi,
Just building my Ormerod 2 and wondering about the time its taking to head and cool the bed and print the ormaxis piece. To heat the bed to 65 degrees it takes approx 7 minutes and to cool down to 30 degrees it takes 11 minutes. Does this sound right to you? The ormaxis print takes about 3.5 hours, does this sound right?
Also in pronterface what values do you find work well in the extrud
