So I managed to fix my heated bed and it works fine now.
The problem does not seem to go away though:
Here is the finished print of the same toy truck (quality has increased considerably. Moving parts moved immediately upon removing the part from the bed!) and here is the persisting warping.
I also tightened my y-axis belt which seemed a bit loose.
Any other ideas anyone?

Hi,
I recently started a thread with a printing issue I had, before seeing this PTPG thread.
I am adding the pictures and description from my thread here. So here it goes:
I have recently been encountering an issue of warping of my first layers, predominantly on my y-axis.
I have a Prusa Mendel i2, and my heating bed is problematic, as it heats up only half the bed (roughly from y=80mm to the

Update:
So I tried printing the same print in blue tape (that is: no heated bed) and the result is exactly the same as before...
Can anyone suggest any possible solutions to the problem?

Hi everyone.
I have recently been encountering an issue of warping of my first layers, predominantly on my y-axis.
I have a Prusa Mendel i2, and my heating bed is problematic, as it heats up only half the bed (roughly from y=80mm to the end of the bed). The issue I am having appears predominantly on the first layers.
I printed a small object (toy truck) to check whether i was having this problem

Guys I just solved the problem (at least my heater bed slowly starts to heat up).
It was kind of an obvious mistake and thanks to Steffman's comment from the supplier I managed to fix it. It appears that I had not set the Heater bed temp sensor (it was set to 0) and that is why nothing was working.
thanks for all the help guys!

Steffman: it appears there are two different issues indeed. From what I understood initially was that you couldn't get the bed to heat up initially although you had your extruder working just fine (that is actually the case for me, where I have been printing for a while without heated bed, on blue tape on glass). So as I understand now, you had both the heated elements working , the only problem

The fuses (I also just found out about them... (hiding dunce hat)) are the yellow capacitor looking components in front of the voltage inputs. just check that you get a continuity between their terminals and that you get 12v on them.
Now about the temp sensor I am going to give it a try, although I don't understand why T0. I had the extruder thermistor on T0 all this time and working fine, and h

btw just checked my fuse and it is fine. I am not sure whether I should check the mosfet too. Any ideas? Still haven't solved the problem and it baffles me...

hey steffman! Mine is a ramps 1.4 for a prusa i2 and got it from sainsmart. Let me know how it works out for you.
btw did you ever get the bed to heat up?

I get 12V going fine to the 11amp side. Which one is the fuse?
Is it possible that it got blown without ever working once? I mean that I never got the heated bed working yet.. I would assume that it would get blown if it would draw too much current that maybe my PSU could not handle, right?

Hi. I am having the same issue as I am not getting any voltage from D8 when I try to heat up the bed.
I have a fan connected to D9 which works just fine, and my extruder connected to D10 which also works fine.
I am guessing it's some setting I need to change in Configuration.h or Pins.h but am not sure where and to what value (using Marlin).
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi waitaki,
I have not added the jumpers! I totally missed that while connecting the electronics.
I guess this must be the issue. I will try them with the jumpers (hoping that I have not done much damage to the motors so far) and get back to you.
About the voltage, that you are asking, I am not sure. My RAMPS is connected to 12V if that is what you are asking..

Hi everyone.
I have just finished building my first Prusa Mendel (i2) and finally want to go ahead and try my first print.
Unfortunately, my motors think otherwise. I am using the RAMPS 1.4 board (with the Arduino MEGA) and have uploaded the latest version of Marlin.
So after everything working nicely up to this point, whenever I try to move my x and y motors through pronterface (or the LCD scre

Thanks. That is what I checked this morning and found out that my LCD screen was getting only 3V for some reason.
What was troubling me was that initially the LCD was working fine, and only after a few runs did it stop working. I am still not sure why it did that, but anyway.
I have solved the problem by supplying 5V directly from the PSU to the 3 pins that are directly next to the reset button

Update:
I just kept fiddling with the screen to try to resolve the issue, and discovered that if I had the ramps connected to the power supply + the USB cable connected from my computer to the arduino, then the LCD display worked fine and I could control the motors (although the brightness of the display seemed a bit dim compared to normal operation).
I am supposing that it might be an issue o

Hi everyone,
I just finished building my first Prusa Mendel (i2), using an Arduino Mega with RAMPS. I purchased the electronics from Sainsmart along with an LCD screen, and just finished putting everything together.
The LCD screen started working just fine, but after trying out a couple of motors, and switching it off and back on again, it stopped showing anything and just has a strange sort of
