Could be settings, could be the version you are using, you need to provide more details.
I assume it is the circle on the far left in your image that is the problem?
I just sliced your object using my default settings and Slic3r version 0.9.10b (the last one that has actually worked properly for me) and it seems to come out ok.

Actually my original plan was to do just that, I didn't think that the printed plastic would stand up to the high temperature environment and I had purchased resin and was going to use the 3D milling machine to make a mold. I printed one off for the the client to trial for mechanical design, saying I didn't expect it would last in the production environment, but after they had been using it for s

@tmorris9 Thanks for you comments. I do intend to trial the methods you suggest, once I get back to my machine. I'll set up a standard testing part and a rig for tensile testing, and get some quantitative data of the effect of various print settings and procedures.
However I would still like to trial my pinning/injection idea, as I think it could greatly increase part strength.

One of the parts I print is a fitting for attaching a carbon fibre rod to a PCB probe. In use it should be always under compression, it is printed with the Z axis aligned with the shaft axis, and has proven robust in field use over several months. However recently we have had a few failures, where the part has been sheared along the layer boundary. I've had various reports as to the cause, from "

@Steve - I have exactly the same issues with Vn 0.9.7 and Pronterface under Windows 64-bit.
The problem in saving (exporting) the config.ini seems to be with the parameters:
bottom_solid_layers
top_solid_layers
perimeters
If I change them from the default of 3, I often can't change them back via the GUI. The file writes, but the old values remain.
I've resorted to checking them (load slicing s

I bought a "Cannonball Allstar" model from 3D Stuffmaker around the start of 2012, and I must say I have been very happy with the support provided by Rob, Gowtham, and the others. As well as email, if you have Skype and a webcam they will take the time to talk you through problems with setup and the like. I now have a machine that gives me very good results, and I know a lot more about the world

Hi Bill,
Your email reminded me that I had a big old bench supply with voltage and current settings and meters sitting out in the shed, thanks for that! When I went to get it, I found a few 12V 3.75A plug-pack style supplies from some video boards, with the right connector, so I ended up using one of those to start with.
I then spent a lot of time trying to get the communications to work, first

Hi Bill,
I'm in the Geelong region. I ordered one back in December, and it has just arrived, I still have to connect it up. I thought I was ordering a kit, but it is pre-built, all but a power supply which I need to source. No manual, software, build specs or anything arrived with it though, so I have quite a bit of learning ahead of me. Hopefully the forums and a local community will help with
