No I don't think the files are broken. I just thought maybe the virus scanner would prevent opening the file. In your first post you said it takes long to import them not never starts. So is it now very slow or does the progress bar never start to grow?
How about the binary stl files and obj format? Same problem there?
How do i verify if it is a binary stl file only? i dont have an

I'm a bit clueless at the moment. With 8gb memory you have more then me, so it should indeed be no memory issue. And loading is simple creation and testing of datastructures, so nothing a os can influence. Is there a special position of the progress bar where it slows down (screenshot)? Is it always with large models or are small objects (<1M also slow.
I just checked and I do ha

I could import all files within a few seconds. So it is not the file or the file handling. I also do not think it is the graphic card. Could it be a memory problem, so windows started to swap memory to disk? I used a virtual machine with 4gb ram for testing. You could try and run a performance monitor in parallel.
Im running like 8gbs of ram i think and the cpu says

I'm using Viki on two machines. Works great but I had a bit of a quality issue with one(LCD mounting post) so look it over if you order one to make sure its ok.
..... Shipping is a bit slow but worth the wait.
What type of machines are you running? Any issues with the programming interface?

Hey Guys,
So I recently had a room mate move in with me and now my printer has been relocated to my room. This wouldn't be a problem if I ran it from a laptop but as of now I have to use my desktop. So I was thinking of adding a display that would allow me to print without the computer. So i was wondering if you guys would let me know what you have used, what you have heard for the best display t

Has anyone noticed with the new slic3r how it is making an extra layer around the print at the bottom? I would love to know how to get rid of it...it is quite annoying and causing a couple issues especially when printing parts that mate together. ie gears or components.

Hey Rob A
I have my Eckertech machine now and it works awesome. I have been printing since the day I finished the build. I am getting fantastic prints. Any issues I have encountered they have been able to solve over email for the most part in less than a few hours. Sometimes I get a response within minutes. Very good customer support. Well worth the little extra over buying from other local suppl

Im going to suggest if you want to build larger items you will want to make your own design. The alternative is to make smaller pieces that add up to create a large piece. to each their own

Well I have made up my mind and I am going to go with the Eckertech Printer the Ecksbot. I really like that they have created a soild version of the Prusa Mendel and incorporated the best parts of the Mendel. Also the support that I will receive will be better than any other dealer I have spoken with. Anyone have any suggestions as to what are the first few things I should try printing as test pi

k when you guys say "vitamins" what exactly does that mean? I have been trying to get the lingo but im still not quite understand it. I read somewhere it had to do with the plastic hardware then in another spot someone referenced it to the metal and electrical components. So as far as im concerned according to those statements the whole printer is a "vitamin"
