Just wanted to thank Nophead and the community for answering my dumb questions and posting all the threads I have perused over the past couple of years. My Mendel90 Sturdy successfully printed a calibration cube yesterday after about two years of parts gathering and spare-time building. 300X 200Y 300Z (more like 290, but whatever), 8mm trapezoidal leadscrews instead of allthread, Nophead's direcby jswilson64 - Mendel90
This may be late but I was working through the same thing using a RAMPS derivative board (PICA Shield). Reading through the Marlin Github issues category, it appears that only one fan is supported by Marlin. M106 P0 should be the part cooler fan. I edited my pins file to remove my second fan that goes to the extruder. Edited Configuration_adv.h where it says extruder cooling fans: #defineby jswilson64 - Firmware - Marlin
How do I generate an assembled / exploded view of the direct drive extruder and hot end? There's a couple of images on the blog post (http://hydraraptor.blogspot.com/2016/01/mendel90-github-catch-up.html) but I'm still trying to make sense of how it all goes together.by jswilson64 - Mendel90
Oh wow, seriously? OK I'll hit up the dollar stores and grocery stores... :-)by jswilson64 - Mendel90
Looking for source for a spring. BOM says I need Spring 6.5mm OD, 0.96mm gauge x 16mm long I'm in the US - Grainger and McMaster have springs that are close, but not sure if they'll work. Thanks.by jswilson64 - Mendel90
Confused as to what I need for the D-sub connectors for Mendel90 Sturdy. Someone got an Amazon or other product link? Thanks!by jswilson64 - Mendel90
Subject pretty much has it. Aside from obvious (10mm vs 8mm rods, etc) is there any difference in printed parts between the "sturdy" version and the "regular" Mendel 90? Like the fixing blocks, motor brackets, etc?by jswilson64 - Mendel90
Thanks for the help! I tried building a 200x200 and a 300x300 version and just looking at how the sheets looked, the played around with some of the code. And at this point I'm not sure which version I used, yours of theirs! I found a line that uses the bed_holes variable for both x and y, I think that's where I changed it since my bed will be different in X and Y. After I ran the build code myby jswilson64 - Mendel90
Yes, that's right - the Think 3d Print 3d version. Thanks!by jswilson64 - Mendel90
As the title says, I'm trying to configure a Mendel90. I have access to big 130 watt laser cutter, and a CNC router, so I'm exploring how to build the frame. Trying to set up the configs but as a n00b to OpenSCAD & Python, I'm not sure on a couple of things. First off, if I want to up-size my X axis to 300, I'm assuming I have to change: X_travel = 200; bed_width = 214; and bed_holes =by jswilson64 - Mendel90
