There are G-code commands for this sort of thing, but you can't make use of them on a 3D printer w/o taking into account whether or no the print head and gantry will bump into your print.
If you took that into account, it should be possible to get a nice even curve.

This underscores something that I still find mystifying and confusing about the reprap wiki --- how does one navigate it?
There are only 4 Navigation links:

- Reference
and I don't see that one could get to this hobbed bolt page from any of them, or any of their sub pages.

Agree that future-proofing a forum expansion would be the best compromise / option.

I think the ShapeOko is the best option, but I'm not what one would consider objective, since I wrote the first version of the assembly instructions and edit the wiki a fair bit.
I'd like to think that the wiki would address any concerns one might have about buying the machine --- is there something you're looking for but not finding?

The display showed 9.74 when I was using the 20k reading (I don't know how to use a multimeter and was hoping to be walked through it).
However, it's a moot point since Catalin on the Shapeoko forums indicated this was a 10K part and so not useful for PID, so I swapped in the Semitec which survived the destruction of my hot end, and I should be good to go as soon as I find the Smoothie config fo

Tried measuring, I believe I got 9.74 @20K @ ~23 degrees Celsius.
Tried all the possible values:
EPCOS100
RRRF100K
Honeywell100K
Semitec
HT100K
and didn't get anything reasonable.
What measurement would one get w/ a bad connection? (I had to wire in a molex connection and I'm not certain I did it right).

I've got quite enough to do, thank you.
I'll document a millstrap conversion for a ShapeOko over on the wiki for that and if anyone wants to copy or re-use it, they're more than welcome to. Anything I encounter over on this side of the house which I can improve/fix, I'll fix, as I've already worked at.
But the dictator thing? My family doesn't tolerate them, we fight them. I don't like the idea

For my part, I'd really like to see the documentation cleaned up so that an outsider could actually determine what the true state of things is, which machines were designed when, what the relative merits of each machine design are and how to pick which one to select.
I've been trying to do a millstrap, but have found the whole thing mystifying compared to milling.

As I noted, my solution was to move the extrude out from the gantry --- that way I can print parts up to as wide as the distance from the extruder head to the gantry.

If you move the extruder out from the gantry, you should then be able to take advantage of more of the Z-axis movement range, even if it's extended. Realized that after I bolted the plate for my extruder to my Z-axis:
and have since used longer bolts and spacers to attach it.

If you'd add support for making a new file, instantiating new paths, and allowing one to draw w/ a Bezier pen tool and have that converted to arcs &c. it would make a nice CAD/CAM tool for simple CNC projects.

Thanks.
Is there a reason that I couldn't just get two sets of the 20AWG Jumper Wires: and tighten one end into the screw terminals on the board and the other end into the connectors?
If I did this would it be a good idea to bend back the end which I'm putting into the screw terminals so as to double up the connection and give it some spring?

I don't see that the Ultimachine part fits / matches --- I did find the female part there ( ) but couldn't find the male.,
The Makerfarm cable is a female connector --- I need a male connector to plug into the female connectors I already have.
I'm not seeing a wiring kit on the Panucatt site --- this search: turns up nothing.
