Thank you. It was indeed the homex.g and homeall.g that needed updating. .by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi David, Thanks for helping me work through this. I would have to check with a meter at work as it has been so long but if recollection serves it is a normally open micro switch. It is connected to the E0 endstop header on the duet. As I say an M119 responds with Z: not stopped If I hold the switch down it responds with Z: at min stop If I leave the config as default then pressing theby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Sorry was not in work Friday to try, thanks for the quick response. Still did not change the state of the Z probe, it seems it still will try to do bed probing as well? Any other settings it could be? >>> M558 Z0 X0 SENDING:M558 Z0 X0 >>> M119 SENDING:M119 Endstops - X: not stopped, Y: not stopped, Z: not stopped, Z probe: at min stop Error: Z probe already triggered at startby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi Guys, It has been a long while. I have just updated to v1.19 (from v1.09) and use end stop switches on all 3 axis on my Ormerod1 (Duet 0.6) I thought I had worked out all the new g-codes and had changed my config.g to have M574 X1 Z1 M558 P4 X0 This allowed the X to home correctly and reported correct status for X,Y,Z in the M119 commend but I ignored what it now said about the z-probe beby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Thanks guys, Only just got round to looking into this again. Thanks zombiepantslol, it's nice to know I was not just going crazy needing to send the T0 in ponterface to get it booted dc42 again thank you I now have a printer up and running with your fork, I went with option 1 in the end. When you lay it all out it all makes sense when I follow through what those gcodes do but could not work tby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi Guys, Thanks for the response. Dave I took used a clean SD card and took SD-Images from release it has v1.06 for the html but I think the issue is not with that but earlier in the process. I should have taken a screen shot basically I can wait 5 minutes log in through Pronterface but it is not until I send T0 do I get star ting network. Broken up like that in the console then the web paby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi Guys, I have had my Ormeord in storgae for a while now since my i3 got up and running and thought it about time I get back to it. I have updated to 1.09 and used a fresh SD card with the latest SYS, www, etc folders. All is fine accept when I power up I cannot access over the network, if I connect in ponterface I get the printer running text but nothing more, when I finally send T0 I then geby FalseIdle - Ormerod
@Kim good point I will take some photos once back home, I was in front of it as I typed the post as well just did not occur to me. I used Steve's add on plate and the one piece duct. @Paul That does look like it may do the trick, when I bent the one I currently a little have to miss the spindle I still grounded out on the gears before the hot end reached the bed. Might print this and raise theby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi Guys Finally getting round to commissioning and everything going well, x-axis homed fine started to head down to do z-axis homing and the sensor pad add on to allow for x-axis homing hits the z-axis motor spindle. If I put a lean on it to clear this it then drives into the teeth of the gears before the head is 2-3mm from the bed. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here? Cheers, Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Also received mine thank you, looks excellent. Will install it over the weekend. Thanks again Dave. Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi Dave If you are still taking requests I would love to get one of these. Paypal perfect for payment. Thanks, Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Had the same when I changed my Y-belt tensioner. The connection to the bed thermistor on the ribbon cable, the one where you stick really thin cable in a crimp end that its not designed for. The pins were no longer clipped in the housing and as the bed moved it put pressure on the connector and just removed the connection. I would start there and work back along cable checking temp is OK in prontby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Quoteakakjs Ooo looks fun! Option 5 here as well please (posted before you listed the kit options as well, in case you double count me) Ben Same for me on both counts. Thanks dc. Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hi dc I have been quietly hoping you would go into production on the Modulated IR board save me hacking mine to bits. Please put me down for a fully populated one. Thanks, Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Hope you don't mind Matt, save you I already had it downloaded. Danby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Don't know if anyone had seen this but for those using the the Dell 12v server supply you can tweak the voltage a little higher (not a lot but maybe enough to help). https://sites.google.com/site/tjinguytech/my-projects/server-ps This thread suggests an external nod for 12.5v and a way to quite the fan. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1750411 I have not swapped my supply fromby FalseIdle - Ormerod

QuoteGregL Well, two grandchildren went off yesterday playing with their dodecahedrons. When they come back after school today, I expect they will each have a list of 'things to print' As I am also expecting another two of the grandchildren to turn up today, I am already on my second dodecahedron of the day!!! Quotekwikius QuoteTreth Got my repeat order from ebay supplier today and can confirm it is the same as the original supplied, i.e. hex rod approx 12.5mm long and M5 tapped, so should be good. The part (JDY01.M05) is available on ebay Let me know if anyone else tries these out. Just got mine in the post. Fits fine. Well recommended mod with a stainless steel z threaded rod! Matt you are a machine, soon 1/2 my printer will be designed by you. They look very nice, noticed the Wades extruder my dad just got for his i3 had herringbone gears. Are there many benefits to them? They look a much tighter fit (less backlash?). Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Quotedc42 QuotePaulHam I get blobs alot, especially when printing cylinders. Each time the z axis moves up it seems like the extruded starts and the nozzle moves a fraction of a second after, leaving a blob Which version of slic3r? Do you have "Retract on layer change" checked? (I do). @Paul That's exactly what I observe, changes layer extrudes to remove extraction distance, blob, then the headby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Will give it ago on next print. thank you. Can I just confirm on your prints you are not getting the blobs or at least far less of them and that getting rid of them is an achievable goal? Thanks, Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Thanks Guys I have updated to 0.57h from yourself DC and set my slic3r settings back to those provided by RRP and worked my way through changing the settings one at a time. Lowered temperature to Squags. Changed retraction 4mm then 6mm and changed extrusion factor to 0.92. I have printed at all combinations. 1mm gave me strings across cut outs and moving to 4mm removed them. 6mm made no differenby FalseIdle - Ormerod
I was getting some OK prints just with a bit of dribbling, however x axis sag was starting to lay the hot end in the print it was working on. I decided stupidly perhaps to use the spare time I had to do all the upgrades in one hit so I would finally have a reliable printer that I could start to make my own parts on. Mistake! Thanks Treth I searched eBay after reading the thread suggesting a longer brass z nut but failed to see one. Ordering now. Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Quoterayhicks Oh- I´be been using snippets of that tubing when I rebuild my hot end (to line the threaded nozzle) ! I wondered why they put so much in Ray I must of missed a step in the instruction, so I assumed the same as you Ray. Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
EDIT:- I believe you have run it correctly. Thorough notches on x arm to extruder, I see nowhere else to route it. I say I have done all the suggested things to check extruder build but its worth checking your build and searching here to make sure you are all put together correct and tightly, very tight. Did you have to feed the filament into extruder (push it through) or just keep freeing the fby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Quotedmould I think that by far the biggest plus (for myself, anyway), is how just having the means to print 3D objects had broadened the way I think about designs. Just knowing that I can have an object in my hand the same day I design it, no matter how complex the shape, with no construction effort, preparation, manual ability, material sourcing, tools or post-work clean-up needed has alteredby FalseIdle - Ormerod
Thank you Ray. That was an excellent explanation and is a very helpful technique. I am watching you tube videos and reading tutorials now to give OpenSCAD another good go. Thanks, Dan.by FalseIdle - Ormerod
Kim I have just tried as you sate and it does indeed disappear! It seems to be because the design is made hierarchically from subsequent edits to the design so when you ctrl-z you remove the last layer but the tool does not automatically set the layer before to visible. If you look in the "Label & Attributes" section of tree view the last thing you did is highlighted blue and the rest are grby FalseIdle - Ormerod
