QuoteEcky Zavashier: Those people that buy these machines with the hope of making precision parts quickly will be disappointed but with work like yours, Zavashier, the machine can be improved. But it will never be a precision machine nor was it intended to be. Want precision and speed, find yourself 50K$+ and you can buy what you want. You take the Ramps 1.4 settings, it's the same in a single board. So the board number in marlin is 33. There's a protection in Marlin, the hotends must be hot before the extruder motors are allowed to turn. To disable temporary the "cold extrusion prevention" send the M302 gcode from your controler (Repetier, or so).by Zavashier - Reprappers
58 ? Ca doit être une faute de frappe car les 42BYGHW811 sont référencés à 48mm comme les 17HS8401. Les miens sont donnés pour 78oz.in alors que ceux pris par par Skarab 66oz.in ce qui convient très bien aussi, l'écart n'est pas énorme.by Zavashier - RepRap Groupe d'Utilisateurs Francophone
I'm a sad user of Folger's Prusa I3. I don't recommend it for many reasons, especialy quality issues. The Kossel with its linear rails looks much better engineered. BUT, I still dislike Folger's extruder, you'll get cheap parts anyways, and the design have some strange points : why the vertical rails are so high if the arms can't run at the top ? To me Folger provide kits at low price. You can'tby Zavashier - Reprappers
The voltage output must be set to 0.83V As we don't have the motor's wiring scheme, you can determine 2 pairs with a mutimeter. Check current continuity between two wires at a time.by Zavashier - Reprappers
The Hexagon and the E3D V5 have a Jhead type attachment base, so they will fit most of extruders. The E3D V6 is different, you will need parts that allows its mounting, the Skarab's geared extruder on thingiverse exists in JHead (for exagon, V5...) or E3D V6 attachment. For the rods, you can find some on Aliexpress, they're generaly good quality and reasonable price. In france and like your linksby Zavashier - General
I try to help you. I own a MKS Gen so I know how to wire motors on it. Your link don't help. Now I just need to know more about your motors, as I told youby Zavashier - Reprappers
Appreciate you may dammage something with unproper settings/wiring. Hold down until we check anything. To help you I need the most important informations about the motors : operating voltage, amperage, phase resistance. What are the motor's wiring scheme, and/or coulours of wires and motor type.by Zavashier - Reprappers
Even if the Geetech have good points (leadscrews, belt tensioning system, hotend...) it has some bad points, especialy the acrylic frame (even if it's 8mm thick). My advice would be to save money a bit longer to buy a proper aluminum framed kit, with a wade extruder.by Zavashier - General
Well for a 120v heatbed, anyways you will manage the control through a relay. The board does not matter.by Zavashier - General
There's not a lot of existing large volume FDM printers, for many reasons. Some trys exists, most of them for demo purpose, but you can surely count the fully functionnal ones on one hand fingers. I only know one FDM printer wich has real production abilities, and its build volume don't reach 1m3. If you plan to build a 1m3 printer, some warnings. For now I would say, any will fit. You ask for "what electronics" but don't say anything about what you expect. To help you in your choice we need to know what's important to you : price range, size, number of extruders, operating voltage, ability to manage large/complex parts, network features... Or what kind of job the machine will produce, should it be silent ?by Zavashier - General

Thanks for the link (that works this time) Quoteskynetprinterbut it's totally possible... how could it fail? Here is why this will fail. Whith hot wire technology, even foam has its limits. The good point about styrofoam, is that retracts far from the hotwire, so it stays dry. Seccond, styrofoam can retract until a few percentage of the initial volume. Because that material density is very low.by Zavashier - General
Quotestustu242a smaller diameter would mean more torque and more steps per unit? For a direct drive extruder, the formula is ; e_steps_per_mm = (motor_steps_per_rev * driver_microstep) / (hob_effective_diameter * pi) So stustu242 is right : the smaller hob diameter, the more steps per millimeter. About torque, there's a missunderstanding between Force and Torque. Torque = Force * Distance from thby Zavashier - Reprappers
Be sure to read and understand your hardware instructions. Your motor wiring is wrong. You plugged the motors on the cascade port of the driver (duplicate step&dir). That port is to plug an external driver board. The motors plug are the white HX plugs on the other side of the drivers (green arrow). Control the output power on the potentiometer and the ground pin of the DRV8825 (red arrows). Wby Zavashier - Reprappers

Quote3DPRINTERFor you ,what is the best hotend betwen V5 and V6? What about the hexagon? The V6 is the evolution of the V5, so, because of the improvements it's better. I never used Hexagon or JHead nozzles. But there's something I don't like on the Jhead, it's the single heat-block nozzle. It's expensive to change it, and you can't find any size you want. On the Hexagon, I don't like the nozzleby Zavashier - General
