A Prusa-Mendel with a build envelope of XYZ 16"x16"x12" was given to me. I know nothing about these things but I've decided to rebuild it for the experience before going to the expense of building a new one. It's easier to swallow the cost if I blow it up. Please help if you can. Progress so far: 1. Cleaned the machine and lubricated the all-thread lead screws and guide rods. 2. Identified theby dwm.cadman - General Mendel Topics
Check grabcad.com. I've found a lot of useful models in there. If you find one that you can't open in Inventor (i.e. SolidWorks) let me know and I'll see if I can convert them for you.by dwm.cadman - Reprappers

I'd like to either get this into good working order and print parts for other builds or scavange the good parts from it and build something known to be a sturdy and reliable machine. If your build plate is easily removable, you can put it with the part in the freezer and then it will pop right off. Glue stick is also water soluable and you can run it under warm water to get the part off. If you use Gaffers Tape, most of the glue will stay on it if you use the freezer method. Then you just put the plate back on with little or no extra prep.by dwm.cadman - Reprappers
