M520 and M920 are custom codes not listed at:
Are those specific to your customized firmware?

RRuser expicitely asked "How about firmware debugging?", so I assumed he had to modify the sources for his customizations.

to build the firmware you need the PC, like in embedded developing. OK with a Raspberry you can cross-build or build on the RPi itself, this a particular case. In general developing the printer (sure firmware is part of the printer), need a PC. To controlling the printing, depends on how much intelligence onboard.

To modify STL you can import in Blender
or FreeCAD (that is parametric and manage STEP files too):
To fix STL best is MeshLab:
Slic3r has some minor fix function too.
If your control panel and display on printer let you change parameters like temperature and printing speed while printing, you should avoid using a control PC, best is autonomous printing.
At least a remote monitoring on a RP

thank you for the answer.
I do not know what is the parameter "Z distance = 0" ?
Do you mean "Contact Z distance" set to "0 (soluble)"?
OK to riduce the Pattern spacing to 2 mm
The other parameters I sent in attached "Slicer1.2.9supportsSettings.png"
in the Print Settings tab, Support material, are OK?

hi,
my Mendel printer works well, and I printed many pieces with good results.
Now I had to print a difficult object with a big suspended horizontal face.
I asked Slicer to generate supports, but the results is very bad.
The supports are very discontinuous, so the PLA filaments of first object layer of the suspended face, just over supports, fall-ed in the holes.
I suspect the supports should b

it is undocumented, but obviously settings are saved in:
~/pronsolerc
there are lines, one for each buttons with this syntax:
button 0 "label0" command0
button 1 "label1" command1

hi,
is there a method to automatically import old profiles for Slic3r version 0.9.10b
(the ones with three files: filament, print and printer)?

hi, is there a method to change the order of custom added buttons, without delete them and recreate?

solved, the STL had some normals inverted.
Using a fixed STL, all works, see:

thanks to slic3r developers, I corrected with Blender the normals direction and now the model is sliced correctly.

here the STL fixed by Slic3r 1.2.9 itself for 'revers_1.stl' 22 errors.
Now 'revers_3.stl' show Manifold: Yes and no errors, but still 3D and 2D view are different than Preview and Layers view.

Opening this STL with just downloaded Pronterface .zip (about show 2015.03.10),
why the object preview is different than Slic3r 1.2.9 plater preview?
A part of the object is missing, see attached 'leva737_5.png'!
The attached 'leva737_6.png' show the expected result

in the slic3r plater preview seems complete. Does the preview in Pronterface generated by itself, so without using the Slic3r output?

here an STL that generate a partial gcode, it is simply the 'revers.stl' rotated by 180 degree for printing.
Attached what I see with Blender and with Pronterface+Slic3r 1.2.9 (1.1.7 do the same, while 0.9.10b works).

hi,
I downloaded some STL files from thingiverse:
In particular the two files:
revers.stl
galka_throttle.stl
has some parts intersection, so are no empty surfaces, see shots attached.
Slic3r 0.9.10 and Cura-engine 15.04 generate the Gcode correctly, but Slic3r 1.1.7 and 1.2.9 leave a part (the knob/hyperboloid) away.
Slic3r github web site say as main feature: "STL auto-repair (tolerance

hi,
I want to build my new reprappro, but I have some doubts about the level of accuracy can I got.
In particular I'm worried about warpage along the X axis because it is not triangulated.
Can someone give me feedback about the promised 0.1 mm total accuracy here:
