QuoteLucas Azevedo Hy Guys , Finally solved the problem with my printer by justing leveling with a manual leveler but i still have a problem... my prusa is doing too mutch noise.... is this a normal problem ? It's whether or not the noise is normal, these machines aren't that quiet. How about visiting youtube and listen to some of the printers running? This will give you an idea if what you areby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteshifta Hi all first post here, i have just got this printer but the instructions i was sent aren't great has anyone got an English copy. Btw thanks for all the info on this thread can watch out for the issue that might come up. When I received mine there was also a file on the SD card in English - Build Instructions.doc. If you do not have this, PM me and i'll get you a copy. Brianby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotead456m WOOOOHOO! I have life, that Printrun is exactly what i was after The calibration of the printer is a wee bit off but all the bits respond properly and I've got a clunking extruder but not worried about that, i'm sure I'll figure that out. I was planning to replace/upgrade to drv8825 all round in (a short) time too, nice to know i can and i have those thermistors in the mail. I'llby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotead456m I plugged them in as indicated in the manual. Ext1 to lcd and ext2 to sd. Might b worth a shot to swap em. I'm still running stock firmware whatever it may be. I did think about flashing it with Marlin but don't know about configuration so guessed it was best left alone as to not create more problems. I did hook it up to my Mac and cura but the printer need to onboard setting configby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotearleseydiver Hi, I've recently just bought one if these as well. I am having similar problems with the thermistors, and rasping on the extruder. When the item arrived, the rods were bent, and the holes had been cut in the wrong places on the frame. Does anyone know if it is possible to backup or download the running firmware on the gt2560 board? Roger Hi Roger The thermistors are relatby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotefurbrain I had a lot of weird problems with mine - but only when running from the SD card. At times it would seem like either the X or Y axis would home themselves before continuing with the print, and sometimes the extruder would reverse all the filament out of it. Since then I have added a raspberry pi as a USB controller running octoprint - and I've had no problems. I wonder if either theby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants

Quoteartur_k Quotebrs1701d With my limited experience, I have no other suggestions for you at the moment. Have you had any response from the seller? Yes I had response. I installed 4 new drivers - drv8825 and it is working fine now. I don't know what cauby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Time for another update: I have been printing smaller objects with relative consistency with no major problems now that I have a better understanding on how the various slic3r settings affect print quality and speed. I started experiencing filament feed clunking issues which were helped by reducing the print speed, however the problem deteriorated. Quoteartur_k Quotebrs1701d Yes, the XYZ MAX are reported as tripped. Hopefully the replacement drivers will work, have you made a close inspection over the rest of the board to ensure none of the components look fried? I found the seller to be responsive, however, apart from a small refund, that was as far as it went. Quoteartur_k Quotebrs1701d Hi artur k, No expert myself, still learning, but I’ll try and give you some pointers. The temperature issue is likely due to the wrong thermistors being fitted. They should have a resistance of 100kohms, the ones fitted to mine were 50kohms. Once replaced the readings were fine without any changes to firmware. I checked the Marlin config file for the resistors supporby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants

Thought I’d give you all an update on the current progress. Printing is getting better now that I am starting to understand the various temperatures and printing speeds that effect the quality. I started with Cura but have recently started to use Slic3r, which, for me anyway, seems to produce better results. I have had no issues with bed adhesion at the moment, printing with PLA onto blue tapeby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Mrp23 Thanks for the info on firmware and hotend, I have not been suffering with with the clunking at the moment. I have some time today, so i'll see what progress I can make.by brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
I have the same issue with wearing of the belt, another small niggle to fix. I have been working through some settings today to tweak the prints and have settled on been printing from Cura as there is erratic behavior (moving of the bed and random movements) when I use the SD card reader (also tried the files on the SD card provided), also on a couple of occasions the screen has become garbled.by brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks for the fan duct link, I'll try that shortly. Have managed to print a 20x20 hollow cube, not too bad, and the dimensions are correct. Had a slight bed adhesion issue, but happy for the first attempt, guess it is now a case of tuning in.by brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi ianm1981 Aren't they fun. My tube was completely blocked at the top, solid metal still. I received the replacement via Amazon seller this morning, fitted, and am now extruding plastic. Whilst extruding, I also had the occasional clicking issue, so will lower the print speed, thanks for that. I'll align the bed and go for the first print How have you found the print quality?by brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Mseager, most of the tube is hollow, Just the last couple of mm that is covered. If I could not source a replacement quickly, the plan was to grind the end down. I should have the replacement today. Hi Roger123D Thanks for the tips on the Thermsitor, you are correct that it is just shoved in the hole. I did have to replace it, so I’ll pick up some high temperature silicone and finish theby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi broy5, I wish it were that simple, it is solid metal. I have plans to possibly replace the extruder setup, but wanted to see the printed quality first for comparison. The thermistor is currently reading the correct temperature, and I will monitor that. Appreciate the commentsby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
Quick update, I believe I have found a replacement 'throat' tube on Amazon, and will be here tomorrow, so fingers crossed. I'll update on the progress, but feel free to offer any additional pearls of wisdom. Thanks Brianby brs1701d - Prusa i3 and variants
