I have tried that too yesterday. Easy to get the parts off, but with the double-sided tape it stucks much better, not warping and the 'shield' also gets build. What is the type that you use? Maybe I use the wrong type. What is the best height to print? Must the nozzle head touch the (current layer)surface a little or not? Because when I let it print higher, it looks like it's get less accuarate.by GT-B - Reprappers
Yes the infill was not set right. The new print was good, only the nozzle was to low. But that's fixed now also. I'm really surprisedby the strenghtness of the PLA when printed.by GT-B - Reprappers
Hallo Gerben, Ik heb net mijn RepRap klaar en ben momenteel bezig met mijn RepRap verder af te stellen. De eerste print resultaten zijn best goed. Als alles naar behoren werkt wil ik wel proberen het onderdeel te printen. Groeten, Guyby GT-B - Dutch User Group - Archive
Hi all, Today finaly I had some time and the PLA had arrived yesterday, so I went back working on my RepRap Mendel. After a first attempt the plastic wouldn't stick to the bed. So I lowered the distance between the nozzle and the bed, but still wouldn't stick to the bed at all times. What is the best distance anyway? I can not find it anywhere.... Than my collegue had the bright idea to use sby GT-B - Reprappers
Ok, but the beta value in the RepRap host software isn't used anymore as I have read somewhere, is that right? So do I need te re-generate the look-up table in the AVR software with the Python script, after I have calculated the Beta value? B.t.w. today I have printed for the first time, see my new topic. Doesn't look disapointing for a first time print in my opinion. Guyby GT-B - Reprappers
Did some measurement inside the nozzle yesterday. Temp. values are more closer to the values displayed in het RepRap host software. But there is still some deviation between them. The higher the temp. the higher the deviation, as expected. What is the best and most simple way to calibarte this? Regards, Guyby GT-B - Reprappers
That's true, I measured on the outside of the nozzle. I will clean up the nozzle, and place the thermocouple inside of it. Let's see if that will give some beter results. Regards, Guyby GT-B - Reprappers
Hi Giles, Thanks for the tip about calibrating the thermistor, I will try this. The problem can't be the thermistor to far from the nozzle. I placed it as close as possible to the nozzle, and even if I didn't then the value measured by the thermistor should be lower than the real temperature. I my case it is the opposite, real temp. is lower then meassured by the thermistor. Regards, Guyby GT-B - Reprappers
Hi, I'm building a RepRap, well... acually, I bought a complete and assembled hardware kit and electronics from BotMill. It costs some $$ but looks very nice with the parts made on a Stratasys machine. The reason I bought the assembled kit is that I use it at our company, we are planning to buy a Stratasys or 3D systems machine and got really inspired by this project so we decided to make one.by GT-B - Reprappers
