Ok, I flashed a regular Marlin firmware into the SmartRap, and connected the extruder to D8. Heat is now working as expected. However, the extruder motor refuses to work. I've checked the config file, everything seems to check out. Any thoughts?by boris_blackmilk - Printing
Hello all, I am using a Smartfriendz SmartRap printer with Arduino 2560/ RAMPS 1.4 controller, and the Smartfriendz Marlin firmware from their git. I have a runaway heat issue - heat runs away when motors are jogged to position the head, and when PID Autotune is used, the hotend does not heat up at all. I am using a 100W power supply (as I do not have a heatbed) and it seems to move the motorsby boris_blackmilk - Printing
Hello all, My adopted brother, who is a adamant RepRapper from way back, and I got talking about improving the situation of RepRap machines. He had just told me about a bed levelling arrangement using a endstop switch and a servo on the extruder. This got me thinking... Most robots I've designed, pre-RepRap era, had some kind of proportional feedback as to the position of the robot in 3D space.by boris_blackmilk - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Hi all, I was wondering if I could potentially run two Prusa Mendel printers from one mains voltage power supply that is listed in the standard build instructions? Since I am going to be building a production line of eight Prusa Mendels, I'd like to shave some costs off. Many thanks for any help! Boris.by boris_blackmilk - General Mendel Topics
Thats interesting! How does it turn the marker into a mist? I'm certain if I bought one, I'd find out - time to go to the local Target, or just eBay it...? Imagine hooking it up to an air compressor so you don't have to pump it up... hours of fun. One other niggling doubt, apart from "How does it do it?" is, how would you mix up custom colours? But this is interesting to say the least. Low cosby boris_blackmilk - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Hi Chris! I just had a look at a video of pad printing on Youtube - that could work for small decal like inscriptions, certainly, but I was thinking about painting lines and fluting details onto trains. Then again, why not do both? You could 3D print a plate for pad printing using a Reprap, and then use the machine to do both types of painting - long detail painting (the lines) and then the padby boris_blackmilk - Let's design something! Hello all, I have just joined the world of open source 3D printing, and of course, the first thing I wanted to print was model trains! Of course, I really don't know how to use an airgun to paint, so what about using something along the lines of a Reprap and an Eggbot combined with a small airgun and compressor, along with open source software to make... I guess, a Super Painter? Of course, youby boris_blackmilk - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
