Here is a new one..Doing a print, everything going good, then it just stops. The screen say "Wait for user...". Never seen that before. Temps are staying up, it just isnt moving.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants

I recently had to change the throat and nozzle on my Migbot. It is now leaking plastic from where the throat meets the hotend while printing causing lumps in the print. Iv tightened it as much as possible (while hotend was heated to 240C). Does it need to be heated more to get it even tighter? What else can i do to stop this leaking? any advice would be most grateful. Thanx in advance.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Iv noticed on mine if X and Y are not set the same (both pots and firmware), or within very close to each other, instead of a cube I get stairs. Figured out my lumping issue. It was leaking plastic where the throat meets the hotend and dripping onto the print. Tightened it up, recalibrated extruder feed and bed height. Back in business.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Got a new development... Spent some time calibrating the extruder, and switched to a white PLA. Turns out, the lumps Iv been getting is burned plastic. Anyone able to explain why this is occuring??by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotewallygator801 Alright guys, I finally got the new ramps v1.4 board installed and everything is working. Now if someone could help me get the home position set I would be very grateful. I am using repetier host and when I hit the home buttons it tries to extend well beyond where it should stop. Thank you. Try Pronterface. Much more better in my experience.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuotegatorNic Quoteveaceonee So I messed with the retract and speed settings a little. Helped with the giant lump it was making in the print...but, now everything else is going hell......frustrating. I think probably do a methodical calibration of your x,y,z and extruder. Make sure they are doing exactly what they are suppose to do. Then starting with the default migbot settings again. What glass do you recommend I get to replace the aluminum plate? Does the glass replace, or add on to the aluminum plate? Iv heard the Z sensor doesn't like glass plates, is this true? The aluminum plate does not appear warped.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteRRuser The alignment of the brass nut for the Z threaded rods does seem very important. I have a similar one in my steel i3, and if slightly tilted, the brass nut will really bind that Z threaded rod, so much so that you can't turn it by hand. As for warping acrylic frames, at least I can avoid that problem, with the steel frame. When I was building my machine, I spent a lot of time shimmiby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Quote3DST veaceonee, has anyone been able to print this extruder frame part for you? If not, I can get one done for you. Ya, I managed to "modify" the old extruder frame so I can get 1 print out of it. Luckily, I was able to get the new frame printed in that 1 print. Thanx for the offer though. Weird thing is occuring however. Whenever I print there are these lumps in the prints which the pby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
My printer is making these weird lumps in the prints. Sometimes they stick out the sides, other times they come out the top. but they make the print head skip around when it goes over the top. what is causing these? I made the unfortunate mistake of upgrading to windows 10 and now I can't connect via USB to the printer. I can only print off SD, also put a new nozzle and throat on as the oldby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
I havent seen a device signage error. It lets me do the Have Disk option, but it still has the same thingby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Every time I try to connect my computer to the printer it keeps saying "NON GENUINE DEVICE DETECTED". It will not connect to the printer. How do i fix this? Stupid Windows 10..by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
I was wondering if someone can print me an extruder frame (the plastic part that attaches to the extruder stepper). Mine is broke, so it drags on the feed gear rendering the machine useless. Shapeways won't be able to get one out to me until at least the 21st. PM me if you can help me out..by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Looks like my machine shop flaked out on me. Can anyone print me a new extruder frame? I dont need the handle, just the frame.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesteaneb Quoteveaceonee Does anyone know the thread size of the throats? m6 x 30mm ....make sure you get 300m length. the 26mm is too short....I found that out after getting half a dozen These are the throats I purchased: The stock throat is 26mm-ish long. It would be nice to have a longer throat for more adjustability. I am talking to a local machine shop about getting the extruder stby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Appreciate the feedback but, I cant print anything right now because the printer is broke (awaiting parts). That was something I found, that was unrelated to the initial problem. I need to get the printer repaired before I can make anything.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Do you think I could use 2 part epoxy to fill and repair the part?? Most aftermarket extruder assemblies I see cover the entire front face of the stepper, which wont work for this printer without a total redesign..by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants

So the whole j-head jammed up. Took it all apart and saw that the spring mount on the extruder is cracked. is there an all metal replacement available?by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuotegatorNic Quoteveaceonee Is anyone else having with Windows 10? I knew I shouldnt have upgraded. Not touching it until atleast Sp1 comes out. What are you having an issue with? It wont connect. It sees the printer, but can't connect. Pronterface is doing weird things. Upon doing more research, it is a known issue with USB serial drivers.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteCAlleman Anyone else get an email from someone named Caferlin from China TL Maker Electornics Co,.Limited promoting the site for 3d printers? Looks like they are now selling the Migbots under a different name Ya. I got one.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotejbehan Has anyone found an aluminum extruder mount for this thing? I know it was mentioned very early in this forum (first page) but haven't seen anything on it since. I see there is one on flea-bay for $27 but that seems a bit high for what it is. Also, I was looking at this...any thoughts? JB. Mine came with a metal bracket that everything attaches to. QuoteCAlleman With the company shutting down the only thing I could see as an issue going forward would be the Motherboard (and maybe the LCD?) as the motors, switches, etc are all commonly purchased items correct? Is there another MoBo that would be compatible with the firmware we have? Migbot didn't use anything "proprietary" in there setup. All parts are readily available and easy to get.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotejbehan FYI, no more Migbot! They closed up shop and took there customer support with them. Here is the response from 3dprintersonlinestore; "We understand that only for the customers we are here. Unfortunately Migbot shutdown the factory due to high competition and big loss. Only they are responsible for after sales support." Steve Nelson Sales Consultant 3D Printers Online Retail Store -by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Did a few mods to the machine..thought I would share. First and foremost, and ON/OFF switch. It is a covered toggle, I like the look. Put a fan over the electronics. I had a 90mm computer fan just lying around, so I put it to use. No fancy bracketry, just a couple zip ties. Did you know there is a reset button on the LCD panel? Well, there is.
