I'm part way thru a Prusa Mendel build inc arduino128/RAMPS 1.4, no heated bed.
I have C/C++ programming experience.
I'm at the software configuration stage and after looking at various postings thought I'd go with
what looks like the easiest to install:
Sprinter Firmware
PronterFace / SFACT Software
But the sprinter readme file
Sprinter readme file
has a section saying:
"WARNING: This version (April 19th, 2011) fixes a bug that caused speeds to be lower than what
set in GCODE. So before attempting any print, you will have to check all
your axis max speed, including the extruder retract speed. Not following
this guidelines can seriously damage your printer."
but then doesnt say
'in order to check all your axis max speeds you need to....'
So what am I supposed to do?
I've picked sprinter over teacup because a posting said 'it just works'. Sounds good for me as a beginner as a starting setup , but maybe teacup would be better if it doesnt have pitfalls like the above? Just pondering out loud...
Thanks in advance for any help
Mike
