3D Prints vs Lego's

Several SpaceX 3D designs have been done with very high detail. My shock today was what "manboy" who did several of the designs posted.

It was an advanced Lego set, more futuristic and toylike but I wondered since we have all kinds of 3D models out there; why we couldn't take on this project? [lego.cuusoo.com]#

Anyone, group want to take it on?

Lego is quite hard to print and make it work well - I've found the ridges make it hard to get near the nice push fit. Other lego-clones like mega blocks aren't great in this regard - the force required is frequently too much or too little. I think this is probably the hardest thing to get right, since that lego set would be very cool, but only if it stayed together.

anyone interested in taking this idea [lego.cuusoo.com]# and putting it into a nice clean model without any lego's?

Duplo is twice the size and actually compatible with some of the lego blocks.

@Prober: Not really sure if you have made your request clear. Are you suggesting a printable building set, or advocating for a web site like cuusoo, or something else?

Cuusoo is Lego's way of figuring out what kits people would like to see in the future, while harnessing the skills of amateur lego builders.

Looking for a printable set.....thought of using the very fine detail work of Manboy as a starting point. [www.thingiverse.com]
Using only the Ideas from the lego guy.
