I have also been working on a concept for a new bed leveler and thought i would share my idea. I really like the idea of automatic bed leveling but i think it would be nice to have something that...
1. Majority of people could print without purchasing new parts
2. Easy to adjust the bed with really small incraments ( 18:1 ratio on the gears )
3. Maximizes Z print area
4. No major overhangs or problematic printable areas ( worm screw is really the only problematic part so far no real way around it unless you buy the gears :/ )
5. fixes issues that i have had with other y carriages
a.) belt lifter so y dose not bind at edges of travel
b.) easy to adjust belt tension without removal of bed
c.) minimal material used with out sacrificing structural rigidity

The vertical screw would be attached directly to the bed ( have some ideas but nothing really solid yet )

No idea if its going to work but i have been able to print a decent worm screw at this size.
This still has a long way to go but with all the smart people in this community i figured i might as well use that resource
