Print time error

I have noticed a printing time error on several recent projects. Perhaps I have just not noticed before.

One project took about 1 hour longer to print than the G-code file's ppredicted ~3 hours. Another project to an extra 20 min when 2 hour 20 min was predicted.

What might it be that causes these errors? Can they be corrected?

If you are pricing a project and use estimated time to print rather than actual, you can err in the project cost.

I'm using Repetier Host and Slic3r, latest versions

Thanks,

Bob

RH computes time based on demanded feedrate. It does not take into account time for acceleration/deceleration or limited speed. In printer settings you can add time in % based on this. You have to find out how much you typically need to add, aslo it will vary from object to object depending in slicer settings like infill type etc. The next server release will simulate print for more accurate time prediction including acceleration.
