Two Steppers for Y - How?
September 12, 2015 03:26AM
Hi everybody!

I want to use two steppers for my y-axis. My board - an extended Azteeg X3 - has capability to wire both y-steppers on a different motor driver. So both drivers are working independently.
But how to map this in the firmware? I want to use repetier 0.91 for that.
Is it neccessary to modfify the source code for that or is it already build-in?
If not, where can I adjust that?

BTW: extended Azteeg X3: I have made an additional board to use the idle laying ports at the expansion board for two more stepper drivers, three mosfet-outputs an two more ports for incoming signals. If someone is interessted on that, I can post the layout here.

Regards
Stefan

The firmware can mirror all stepper signals to a second driver. In the config tool just select the mirror option for the driver and a second set of motor pins will appear.

If you have added extra pins they are not defined in pins.h so you have to define them or simple select E2 extruder and later in config.h replace these pin names with the pin numbers you assigned.

Oh repetier, you are really great!
Thanks a lot. That helps me pretty much!
