Found an old hard drive. The internal disc seems to be a good support the 1 kg filament spool.

That's a great idea! I'll try it.

Would it not need a little drag?

To stop it unspooling all over the place.

Retired now but I used to make....
CNC Machined Mk1 aluminium bed support plates for the Ormerod
CNC machined X-plates and ribs for Mk1 & Mk2 Ormerods
CNC machined bed support arms for the Mk2 Ormerod.
Dual Hot-End heatsink blocks.

Hi, I like that idea.... If you can measure the diameter of the base, I'll send you a STL of my base with the hole size altered to suit your disc spool so it clips on to the ATX... winking smiley

I modified your spool stand to fit with the diameter.

Don't have the printer with me right now. Maybe will post it once it printed on next week.

Ok, that's good....
Now I feel redundant.....lol...thumbs up
Which software did you use to convert the STL file? I haven't used one yet, but could do with one.

Well I didnt manage to convert the STL, just manage to measure the dimension and redraw it accordingly.

Just finish printed both the base and the stand
