When you do a reset, tool 0 is selected, which places its heater on standby. You can see this in the web interface. You should have a T1 command in your start gcode, which will activate tool 1 when you start printing. Alternatively, click on the Head 1 text in the web interface to change its state to Active, or send command T1 before you try to print again. This behaviour is not unique to my fork of the firmware, it's standard.
