no filament change option in reprap display?
March 21, 2016 09:13PM
Hi,

I just bought the reprap full graphic smart controller and apart from the D1 diode issue it works. However I cant find an option to just heat the nozzle, retract the filament and push the new filament in and im not talking about filament change during the print, just plain and simple filament change before print. I saw on some screenshots on google that there is a "extruder" menu point, I dont see that in my display.
I went through all the options in marlin and managed to even switch the pins for the encoder direction, so is there another .h file that defines which options are presented in the display? I have the feeling im missing something obvious here.

Cheers

Marlin doesn't have a specific filament change function.

Under Prepare, select Preheat ABS or Preheat PLA for your filament and then select Preheat, which will heat up the hotend and bed.

After the hotend is hot, under Prepare->Move Axis->Move 1mm->Extruder and rotate the encoder to move the filament.
