Power cable question

Hey guys,

I'm new to this board, and new to 3d printers in general. This was my first build, went pretty well. Honestly, I'm not very electrical engineering savy (was an IE), so don't judge too hard. Anyways, I realized I accidentally cut off the male end of the power cord. Don't know what the hell I was thinking, just a tired mistake. In light of that, I bought a replacement cord from Home Depot, 8 ft long, 16 gauge. It says it has 13A and 125V capabilities. Should I use this as a replacement? Or will this damage the board and fry everything?

Any input and insight is much appreciated. Thanks for the help!

You're talking about the main cord from the wall socket to the printer? If so, you'll be fine with that.

Yep that's the one. Like I said, not very EE savy, just don't want to damage anything now that I'm done.
