Its an Aurora z605 (prusa i3 clone) Yesterday was working fine. I have been fiddling with the firmware and uploaded firmware to the Melzi v2.3 board. HAVE_HEATED_BED is checked in the configuration tool. Strange thing thermistor reads 39 - 40 degrees C, should be around room temperature, bed is cold. Tried to warm the thermistor and it displays a change in reading. But the bed wont heat. Turniby konstantin.neo - Prusa i3 and variants
Hello. I have a unrelated project to 3d printing. I want to use the 4x20 RepRapDiscount Smart Controller with an Arduino nano 3. I like the display size and the fact that there is an encoder that could be useful tool. Can I interface the display with the nano 3 directly by wiring or some other parts are required? Thank you. P.S. After looking at reprap documentation for the discount smart cby konstantin.neo - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I have been tinkering with the firmware config tool. I think all the basic functionality is there and working, it moves , its heats up, it blows the fan. Repetier host now connects and does not reset the printer every 5 seconds. Does it have to do with the "watchdog" option I have checked in the firmware? Now only this is the main concern: SD init fail SD initialization failed. Do not reformatby konstantin.neo - General
But is it reversible? Do you mean that by selecting the Sanguino avr in 1284P in 8MHz and writing the firmware I have changed the baud rate? Can I revert that? I did reflash twice using the 1284P at 16MHz , doesnt it change it back to the previous baudrate? I am lost in this.by konstantin.neo - General
Ok, when programmed with 1284p 8MHz setings, right after in the window of Serial Monitor it would start to show this type of messages 21:04:57.523 -> m⸮⸮⸮8⸮q0S⸮y⸮y⸮d] I send M205 and did not get the full info. So I get these characters. Maybe it switched encoding or sending the replies in another format now? If I connect to Repetier Host , i get repeaded messages: 9:40:11.274 : Detected Eby konstantin.neo - General
Thank you so much. It worked as you described, uploaded and all, but. Serial monitor still shows garbage and Repetier Host connects and the printer is just homing over and over again. So I used the Configuration.h from the link you provided. Funny thing my Z steps per mm is 407 instead of 400, travel does reflect that 113.36 mm actual movement vs 110 on the readout. I tried to upload the configuration with the Arduino IDE but QuoteSketch uses 93784 bytes (72%) of program storage space. Maximum is 130048 bytes. Global variables use 4249 bytes (25%) of dynamic memory, leavingby konstantin.neo - General
Hello. I have a "3d printer" with the Reprap Melzi version 2.3 board in it, ATMEGA 1284P. It is an acrylic construcion. Name is: Aurora 3D Z605 It connects and sometimes prints, but its a nightmare on so many levels, most due to me not knowing nothing about 3d printers and alot of frustration from "gremlins" sometimes it would not heat, not move, not connect, not print in the spot I need itby konstantin.neo - General
I have been tinkering with Slic3r to get a clean continuous top layer, but still some details (highlighted in red) that dont make sense. Is there any setting that could help Slicer make a more continuos printing? I use 0.4 nozzle. Maybe it will be helpful for Slic3r to build my solid so I get the desired result? Typically I use a vector path and sweep a profile on it. What width would be idealby konstantin.neo - Slic3r
Hi. Please help me. This is what I am trying to do: I have a vector drawing. I want to 3d print it by a single bead on each of the lines. Is it doable?by konstantin.neo - Slic3r

I have searched Thingverse and there are many lcd related things, mounts mostly, could you provide a link to the actual lcd + sd card project, thanks.by konstantin.neo - General
I am still absorbing all the info about hardware and electronics involved in reprap and its all more or less fuzzy right now. I am interested in a standalone host solution for printing without computer, could you please help me out and name a few solutions avalable? I have a vague idea that there is raspberry pi and arduino but not sure.by konstantin.neo - General
Hi. Im new to the FMD scene but been in cnczone for a while, built a couple of cnc machines, one of which still with me, so I want to fit it with a hotend, J head v6 is the choice. I have been modeling the extrusion head in Solidworks as by instructions laid out in the wiki, my question is: Does the lenght of the 0.25/0.3/0.5 extrusion hole of importance? Min/max recommended? Hi. What is the reasoning behind 3mm and 1.75mm? Those are not imperial standard. I guess one could make custom filament size and print with it too. Why not 1/16 or 5/64?by konstantin.neo - General
