Hello, I am selling my working condition Melzi 2.0 board. I am looking to get $40 back for it, OBO. It originally came with a RepRapPro Mono Mendel and has that firmware on it. The Melzi board information is here: I am in Michigan in the US. Thanksby aplusa3d - For Sale
yog2000 I am about to dismantle my Mono Mendel for the hardware and electronics (I upgraded in printers a little while ago). I would be happy to ship/sell the used printed pieces. I am in the US (Michigan), are you in the states as well?by aplusa3d - General
Thanks for the tips about thingiverse, I had noticed they had 2D files but I hadnt explored it very well. Safety glasses came with the kit, and I checked them out to make sure they covered the appropriate wavelengths, they are legit. Plus you can order extra pair(s) directly from thelittlebox.co. The cutter itself is great for cutting paper and foam and cardboard. It engraves wood easily. Soby aplusa3d - General
Hello, I have a microslice laser cutter that I backed on kickstarter. Its a pretty decent laser cutter kit that was fun to put together and easy to use (I need to learn inkscape better though). Anyway, does anyone know of any thingiverse type marketplaces for 2D laser cutting files (.SVG). I know thingiverse is kinda a bad word around here, but its the easiest to refer to. I wouldnt mind broby aplusa3d - General
Seems easy enough to just buy a new resistor that you know the spec on and put it in. Might be easier than what you have to guess through.by aplusa3d - General
I would love more information on a heating mat. Can these be used to heat up a normal size bed faster? I am tired of waiting 20 min!by aplusa3d - General
I am interested in starting up something like this in my area in southeast Michigan, USA. For reference here are some more links for you. Michigan Tech University has a graduate program that is now looking for graduate students to explore 3D printing. They have their own Mendel variant, and they recently came out with a few 3D printing studies and have gotten some media attention. Here areby aplusa3d - General
Sadly, AT&T is better than the other ISP in town, comcast. Comcast is much worse customer service and terrible speeds.by aplusa3d - General
I am planning a similar box for my RepRap Mendel. Did you use the quick connect from 80/20? Where did you get your 'smoked' acrylic from? Thanks, aplusa3Dby aplusa3d - Look what I made!
I have found it to be spotty at best in Michigan for the last week or two, my personal ISP is AT&T. I figured they might just be busy with their summer sale.by aplusa3d - General
Any special tricks to get the beeper working? I tried once and had no sound. I am not sure if my Melzi has a speaker anyway. I would love to be alerted on some events (like starting a bridge, or end of print, or if hot end temp falls below a certain range/ cold extrusion error.by aplusa3d - General
Somewhat randomly, my hot end just cools off on its own sometimes during prints. I am printing from SD, but watching in pronterface and If I watch it, I can catch it and just command the hot end back to proper temperature (printing PLA, so printing @190C). If I dont catch it, obviously the nozzle cools down on its own and extrusion commands in the gcode give the error message about cold extrusioby aplusa3d - General
Woot Woot, first formed print. Now I can do Calibration! I'm so excited! Thank you everyone for letting me read the wealth of information that is posted on the wiki and the forum. Also, thanks and big shout out to RepRapPro for a great kit and decent instructions.by aplusa3d - Reprappers
Hello stefanjess91, I am done building but just started calibrating a reprappro mono mendel. Feel free to look over my tumblr(at the bottom), or email me about it. I think it was an easy build, but I havent gotten the printer fully printing yet, so i guess take that with a grain of salt. Also, if you want documentation on an i3 build, check out the new issue recently released of reprap magazby aplusa3d - General
Thanks everyone! Looks like my current table will work just fine.by aplusa3d - General
Sweet thanks, I will have to look for some videos of upside down repraps I will try to print with the frame square and the bed level and not worry about my crappy table.by aplusa3d - General
So I am preparing to start calibration on my reprappro Mendel. I have had a lot of fun building it. I want to build an acrylic case around it, and I also need a table/workstation to set the 3D printer on. My question is: How important is it that the work table that the printer is on be level? I imagine that you want gravity to be normal to a level heat bed. The hardwood floors in my placeby aplusa3d - General
There are a few belt tensioner designs on thingiverse that I think will be useful for when I get there. I agree though, not enough talk about belt tensioning.by aplusa3d - General

I am in the middle of building my reprappro Mono Mendel kit. Feel free to follow along at my tumblr (on my signature). I am definitely enjoying it so far! I wish I could build it all in one sitting, but life gets in the way.by aplusa3d - General
Twitch, thank you for the links for adding these features. I am interested in learning about adding features too, but I wanted to read up on calibrating and I am very focused on building/calibrating for now. The WiFi and the LED indicators sound interesting. I would love to hook up a webcam and check in on prints eventually. My RepRapPro Mono Mendel just arrived and I am assembling it now.by aplusa3d - General
I just started building my RepRapPro Mono Mendel and I started a tumblr for the process, noting some of the mistakes I have made along the way. I am maybe about 1/3 of the way built after about a week of having the kit. I have so far been impressed by RepRapPro and the kit. Feel free to follow along.by aplusa3d - General
