I just bit the bullet and ordered carbon arms. I will do testing once those arrive and are installed.by TehStranger - Delta Machines
Quoteetfrench Which slicer program are you using? What material? What temperature is the hot end? Heated bed? If so, what temperature? What speed? What are your retraction settings? Have you calibrated the extruder? Have you tried slowing the speeds down until the arms are stable? I'd recommend printing some of the calibration objects available on thingiverse so you can get a better idea of whby TehStranger - Delta Machines

I know this thread is old but this might help someone in the future. I have had great success with an aluminium bed at 80c with a thick-ish coat of hair spray.by TehStranger - General
Quotehercek They are a bit shorter but they will work. You just will not cover so much of the square bed area than with 250 mm rods. The firmware allows you to set diagonal rod length and delta radius separately -> no problem there either. Thanks for responding. It doesn't matter anymore, I tried to buy them today then I got a message from the seller saying the price was wrong and they actualby TehStranger - Delta Machines
Hello, I have the opportunity to get 240mm push rods for $5 and I was wondering, is that length is suitable for an original rostock delta?by TehStranger - Delta Machines
Thanks for the replies. I ended up snipping some pins from binder clips and soldering those to the board and then soldering the PSU wires to the clips and then heat shrinked them and added some hot glue for extra security. It is working perfect at the moment.by TehStranger - General New Machines Topics
Hello all, So recently I added a heat bed to my Delta and because of that the RAMPS board started smoking and I noticed that the 4 pins terminal where you connect power to is melted. Here is an image: So I want to solder the wires to the pins on the board because I can't wait until my new terminal comes in the mail. Would this work or catch my printer on fire? Cheers.by TehStranger - General New Machines Topics

QuoteLarsK I should add that when I asked you to lower the Z height by 0.3 it had nothing to do with calibration. It is just a dirty trick to level out the errors. The nozzle does not go lower then the bed - Bue due to slack in the system you can push it onto the bed so that the software thinks that it is 0.3 mm lower then what it actually is. As such; Lowering the nozzle lower then when it isby TehStranger - Delta Machines
QuoteLarsK It has two names. One in the configuration.h and a different one in EEPROM. It is OK if you have been recompiling - It is faster to set in the EEPROM but if you don't note down your changes you may lose them if changing something. Thanks for the info, I moved back to Marlin though because it seems like I am getting the best results with that at the moment. I am currently configuringby TehStranger - Delta Machines
I have a problem, in repetier host in the eeprom I am missing "Horizontal Radius", this entire time I've been adjusting printer_radius in the config file and recompiling which I think is wrong as I see other people adjusting it in their eeprom. Anyone know what the deal is?by TehStranger - Delta Machines
QuoteLarsK That makes no sense. If it is a problem with diagonal rod length it should be increasing the length that works.hmm strange :/ Still, if your misalignments are less then 0.5 mm then you can now set the bed height so that the nozzle is too low. Simply I want you to increase MANUAL_Z_HOME_POS by 0.3. That means it won't exteude plastic on the first layer in some places while it willby TehStranger - Delta Machines
QuoteLarsK Change diagonal rod length from 250 to 253 Redo the test and see if that improves. It should bring you so close that you can print with it. I just tried it now but the height is not changing at all. I even changed it to 400 just to see if it was even changing and it wasn't :/ Edit: Sorry, I was wrong. It is changing but it's lowering the nozzle, I need to nozzle to raise up so I wiby TehStranger - Delta Machines

QuoteLarsK Ok, for the time being lets stick to Marlin. If below does not work out we go back to repetier. Please ensure that you implement the correction from above to your firmware and re-flash. I am refering to the 22 mm to 18 mm. Then issue the command M502 M501 Then recalibrate the Z height for the center (ignore the problem with the nozzle lifting at the sides for now). QuoteLarsK I forgot you also need to change the following in the firmware: #define XYZ_FULL_STEPS_PER_ROTATION 200 #define XYZ_MICROSTEPS 16 #define XYZ_BELT_PITCH 2 #define XYZ_PULLEY_TEETH 40 #define XYZ_STEPS (XYZ_FULL_STEPS_PER_ROTATION * XYZ_MICROSTEPS / double(XYZ_BELT_PITCH) / double(XYZ_PULLEY_TEETH)) Nah the new pulleys I bought are 20 tooth. QuoteLarsK Two things; a) In your config: // Horizontal offset of the universal joints on the carriages. #define DELTA_CARRIAGE_OFFSET 22 // mm Please change that to: // Horizontal offset of the universal joints on the carriages. #define DELTA_CARRIAGE_OFFSET 18 // mm Upload that and ensure that it gets loaded to EEPROM. Sorry guys I couldn't do any calibration because the printed gears wore out and I had to wait for my new aluminium ones to arrive. I have been trying to calibrate it for a few hours now and I'm still having issues.
