A silly thought, I know...but: The concept of a RepRap (as defined on the RepRap.org front page), If taken loosely, declares that this miter saw stand is a RepRap. The Miter Saw Stand - It is a machine which is fed a raw material, which is capable of making goods and its own parts (some not all, just like a RepRap) In fact, I think that a miter saw stand can more easily make another miter saby Idolcrasher - General

Any self replicating tech can be used in a RepRap. Read the new write up on the reprap.org front page. Reprap does not have to mean fused filament tech. Future home RepRaps can be powder, resin etc. No need to think an alternate style of 3d printing kills the concept of a self replicating machine; but I understand your excitement I love seeing these new ideas hit the sceneby Idolcrasher - General
Attempt a brim on glass; if that does not work, do this: When you are ready to beat this print and move on with life, use a brim and blue painters tape I feel for you; I spent weeks attempting to unlock the glass temp at various layer heights mystery; unfortunately, the shape of the object plays a huge role.by Idolcrasher - General
PLA on glass is a vicious cycle friend. The glass must be hot enough that the plastic sticks... But then after enough layers, the upper layers of the print are cooler than the bottom layers (due to the heated bed) and the print will then curl and lift. This is because the bottom layers are softer than the top layers; the rigid upper layers are exerting a force on the squishy bottom layers. Yoby Idolcrasher - General
Hi There, What printer are you after? Could you model some of the characters from Team Fortress 2 to be printed on a 3D printer?by Idolcrasher - For Sale

IMHO The RepRap Wiki and RepRapsite are in need of some pretty serious modernization. The strength of the community depends on how well we can communicate here. Not sure how to make that happen; but I could envision something like a kickstarter raising funds to hire/contract that effort. With regard to updating the Wiki; I understand that anyone can write there, but the average RepRapper is prby Idolcrasher - General
The Azteeg and RAMPS both need you to plug in stepper drivers. You will probably want to buy endstop switches of some kind either way.by Idolcrasher - General

Video Of Prusa i3 I have found it very difficult to follow the development of the Prusa printer. It took me a while to really realize that there was an official version 2 in the wild; and now videos of Joseph Prusa and his Prusa i3 are surfacing. Why is there no mention or separation of these versions (that I can find at least) on the RepRap wiki? Is i3 available to print now?by Idolcrasher - General

Yeah, it is a little odd the pictures are not scaled properly. I would love to help fund some kind of Professional Reconstruction of RepRap.org; I would love to see a RepRap kickstarter/indie-gogo campaign whose goal is to raise funds for the purpose of helping build the RepRap Site and Community.by Idolcrasher - General

.25mm is right where I like to live. Spent months fighting for sub .1mm layer height. Was proud to achieve that, but was never happy about trippling or quadrupling printing time If first gen Delta Bots are doing .25mm layers, I bet that number will drop over time... I am wondering if wooden dowel rods could be used vice metal bars. Any reason to think the print quality would take a serious dive? The belts will be fairly tense regardless... Don't the rods simply serve as a guide? I can't imagine there would be very much force applied perpendicularly to the rods.by Idolcrasher - General
