Has anyone out there built the Ponoko RepRap Extruder. I have just built one for myself following the directions here The motor works great. Its moving the gears and studding as needed. But the filament isn't moving. It seems that the filament is slipping on the studding. I'm not exactly sure how to solve this problem. I've tried adjusting the idle. But that doesn't help. Any Solutions??? --sby sun2407 - Reprappers
Hi Michael, If you have the code and documentation I would love to see how you are doing this. thank you sunby sun2407 - RepRap Host
It looks like I have to take it one step at a time. But if you do come across any material/books/articles please do share. thank you sun2407by sun2407 - RepRap Host
Hi, I'm trying to build a new software package that will run with the RepRap machine rather than using JAVA. I was just on the The RepRap host software page located here: and I found some instructions on how to construct the software. Starting with these basic steps: 1. Reading in 3D objects 2. Slicing the objects to make each build layer 3. Organizing a slice into coherent 2D geometry and sby sun2407 - RepRap Host
I'm followinng the Ponko design to build my extruder. The size of the barrel is different from the other designs. Check out the siteby sun2407 - For Sale
Hi, I'm building the Ponoko RepRap Extruder for my reprap machine. I needed couple of machined parts built. A PTFE Extruder Heater Spacer. Basically this is a 35mm piece of 10mm diameter PTFE rod with a 3mm hole drilled down the centre. One end of the hole is chamfered, the other end tapped for 6mm with an M6 hole. Use a 4.5mm starter hole for the tap as PTFE is very soft. And I also needeby sun2407 - For Sale
Thanks Rick. I think that worked out. --sun2407by sun2407 - Reprappers
Hello, I just started building the RepRap machine. I installed the RepRap software and everything but when I execute the program I get the following error message. ************************************************* Error initialising comms: java.lang.Exception Could not connect at /dev/ttyUSB0. Check to make sure that is the right path. Check that you have your serial connector plugged in. Theby sun2407 - Reprappers
Hi, well i have never programmed a 3 axis stepper motor before and I can't get around the idea of how I would program the motors if I started from scratch. I just ordered the Audunio. Hopefully it will be here early next week. But in the mean time I want to try to program the stepper motors using the Basic Stamp microcontroller which I already have. Does anyone know if there is a general guideby sun2407 - RepRap Host
Oops. It looks like I bought the wrong card. Instead of buying the Stepper Motor Controller Card - v1.2 I got the stepper motor driver card v1.1. Well, does anyone have a frabricated Stepper Motor Controller Card - v1.2. It looks like the online Reprap shop does not sell it anymore. How is the Ardunio based reprap coming along? Has anyone been able to get a fully functioning reprap with Ardunioby sun2407 - Controllers
Hi, I recently started working on the reprap electronics. I have soldered all the parts together. I am really excited. Well Im trying to hookup all the boards together in series starting with the PowerComms board followed by the three stepper motor driver boards. I wasn't able to find any instructions on hooking up the boards following the generation 1 method. Does anyone know how to connect tby sun2407 - Controllers
