due to these reports, wouldnt it be good to let the user decide if he wants to use the protection? David, is it complicated to implement a switch to enable/disable that? Or let the users set their own tolerances? By default it should be switched on, but it should be posible to disable/ change values for the advanced user.by critical_limit - Duet
Hi David, my bed sometimes have spikes in temp sensor. With 1.15a it´s working now. M303 on E3D V6 with 24V cardrige is working also very good. Only when my hotend is near to the bed and I switch on the Layerfan the temp is falling around 3-4°C unable to go back to selected temp. When the hotend is more up and the airflow is now no longer reflected from the bed it is able to reach the selected tby critical_limit - Duet
Quotedeckingman Thanks for the tip. My other thought was that as I'll be using 2 print cooling fans, one either side of the nozzle, to just wire them up in series and run the pair off 24v? Or is that a bad idea?e Thats what i'm doing. No problemsby critical_limit - Duet
Same here. One Printer running, one under construction. Both Kossel. PanelDue installed on one, but not using it very often. Doing all with the web interface via my macbook (using chrome for the webinterface to edit config.g. Safari is not working for editing so far) Have a wlan webcam installed to have a look to the printer when printing. Working perfect with the webinterface.by critical_limit - Duet
Thanx Pierre. I Think I´ve dialed it in now. Calibrating with S4 giving the best results for me. My Testboxes are now rectangular and I used the M579 Y1.02 to correct the Y-Direction fault. First Layer is a dream now. Before it was good, but due to calibrating with S6 it has some minor issues. Never thought about that S6 is giving values for X Y Z in M665 so far away from reality. Actually I´mby critical_limit - Duet
Thanx David, I already checked all this and can´t find a fault. What I don´t understand is, that all Dimensions are ok exept Y-Direction. Also I have no answer to this autocalibration thing. Why autocal is making the delta crooked? Manuelly set X, Y, Z to zero in M665 is resulting in 90° angels which is perfect and tells me my Delta is well built. Autocal is setting X and Y to a value where X tby critical_limit - Duet
Hi all, when I´m doing the autocalibration with Parameter S6 enabled it is giving me this result: M665 R179.65 L345.35 B140 H379.13 X0.46 Y0.17 Z0.00 But I recognized that square boxes are not really right-angled from X to Y direction. When I set X0.00 Y0.00 Z0.00 in M665 and do the autocalibration with S4 Parameter they are coming out perfeclty square with 90° Another small issue I have witby critical_limit - Duet
thanx a lot! edited some existing gcode files. worked perfect!by critical_limit - Duet
I´m mid in building my new Delta (XXL-Kossel). Frame is ready to test movement with my new magnetic ballarms. But how to execute a gcode-file neither having endstops installed nor hotend-heater and Bed-heater? Can somebody give me an example how to do that? Want to do speed and acceleration tests for the magnetic ballarms. thanx in advance Dirkby critical_limit - Duet
Quotedc42 * Two changes have been made to improve print quality when printing at high speeds. First, enabling extruder pressure advance is less likely to result in sequences of short moves having sawtooth velocity profiles. Second, a "Maximum average printing acceleration" can now be configured (M201 P parameter). Using this to restrict average acceleration will flatten out any remaining sawtooby critical_limit - Duet
1.10+4 working here as well. Thanx david! @chris: is it possible to show the printspeed from a gcode file? You can readout first and other Layerheights, maybe it´s possible to catch the printspeed as well out of the infos in a gcode-file. This would help a lot when testing same files sliced with differnt speeds. cheers Dirkby critical_limit - Duet
Chrome is working fine with config file saving. Thanx pkm! Are there any plans to add this feature to Safari and/or IE ??by critical_limit - Duet
new firmware works fine also on my mac with Safari. But can somebody tell me how to edit the config.g via the webinterface? I can edit, but changes arnt saved. Is it due to Safari or did I missed somthing?by critical_limit - Duet
Same problem here. After upgrading to 1.10 / 1.11 I can connect via webinterface and upload files and start prints etc. But once the browser was closed a reconnect is no longer possible while in a print.by critical_limit - Duet
Quotedc42 Thanks for that. I see that you don't have a G32 or G30 command in there. What was the last thing you did before printing the file, when you have the problem - was it by any chance a G30? Yes, before every print I make a auto cal with s6. This is my makro for that: M561 ; clear any bed transform, otherwise homing may be at the wrong height G31 X0 Y0 ; don't want any probe offby critical_limit - Duet
Hi David, thanx for your replies. Everthing is normal in my opinion. Can´t imagine why the layerhight was shown as 1,2mm instead of 0,2mm. But as writen before, after the z-parameter in G31 was going above 1mm, all going back to normal. If I have time tomorrow I will crosscheck and maybe bend the diode on the IRBoard that it will triger below 1mm. But have to go back to work again on monday forby critical_limit - Duet
Good news! After flashing back and forth between 1.09k and 1.09x I cleaned my nozzle and hit my miniIRboard. after that "hit" my G31 changed from G31 X0 Y0 Z0.74 P500 to G31 X0 Y0 Z1.12 P500 Now the z-parameter is above 1 and everything seems to work. Layerheight is shown correctly in the webinterface and nozzle is travelling in a plane. Normal ops now. Is it possible there is something in theby critical_limit - Duet

Quotedc42 Quotecritical_limit other thing is, that with 1.09k my Layerhight is shown correctly (0,2mm / 0,05mm) but with versions after 1.09k it is shown 1.2mm / 0,05mm every time. Thanx for your advice, actually I´m back to 1.09k for taking a look at the Layershift problem (in another Thread). But what I can say is, that with 1.09k my first Layer is printing like before, but in 1.09x first layer the nozzle is higher than in 1.09k. Filamnet is not sticking anymore at some areas of the bed. After the actual running 24h print I will report M666 and M665 printouts as well asby critical_limit - Duet
Hi David, back home again and back to 1.09k in a 24h print. So far no more layer shifts. What I noticed is, that the bed heater LED is steady on with 1.09k, but flickering in 1.09 s to x. Temps are shown very stable in all versions and are on spot, only 0,1°C above or below set value. The 1.09x is making another problem, but that´s in another thread. Another thing is, that Layerhight is shownby critical_limit - Controllers
David, is there something changed in autocal routine in the 1.09x version? After autocal my head is moving in waves over the bed. Same in chris version. Back to 1.09k (my reference version) everything is working fine.by critical_limit - Duet
Hi David, bed temp is very stable due to usung a 5mm Alu heat spreader. Dont think its a layer size problem due to bed heat differences. Actually I'm back to work and wont be back home before the 10th of march. I'm not shure, but do you think it can be a bug in the pathplanning of the firmware? havent seen this problem before, but not shure if it changed after 109k or 109r. Have a Duet 0.8.5 can you tell me what I have to modify for reducing the transient? Will also install a big capacitor to see if it helps. Also I will change the PSU from the Rostock Max to the Kossel with the Duet. this is the PSU:by critical_limit - Controllers
Hi David, thanx for your repl and suggestions you made. I already checked all of your points. Screws are tight, all stranded wires are equipped with ferrules (of course!). In bang-bang the effect is higher than with pwm. Every time the bed is switched on the voltage is dropping. But I have no osciloscope to see how large these spikes in voltage drop are, but on my multimeter I can see it´s droby critical_limit - Controllers
Have my Duet connected to a 24v/400W Powersupply. Bedheater is connected direct to the duet. Whenever I have my Bed Heater on (no matter if Bang-Bang or PWM) it produces some distortions in horizontal alignment of the Layers (see picture). This distortion is completly gone when I switch off the Bed. Do you think it make sense to install a big capacitor (10.000uf/40V) in parallel with the DUET tby critical_limit - Controllers
I have very similar problem. Parts are looking nearly the same like yours. I´m using a Duet 0.8.5 with davids latest firmware, 0.9° steppers. Although I have a very accurate Built and quality linear rails, Layers sometimes "shifting" like yours. But next Layer going back to normal, so no missing steps I guess. Is there a gcode where I can play with the decay mode on the duets firmware as well?by critical_limit - Delta Machines
Thnx David. I´m near to the printer the last hour and observed following. M572 is working like you said. Either before a travel move or sharp corners. But I observed also when printing the honeycomb infill it is not retracting when it is printed in 0° direction (means, no retracts when printing in the X-Direction). But retracts when it is printing the 120° direction which is set in S3D at the hby critical_limit - Delta Machines
Reason why I´m asking is: Very well calibrated Kossel (complete Bed in 0.02mm, 0,3mm Nozzle, 0,15mm Layerhight, M572 D0 S0.14) using S3D: 1. First Layer perimeters are printed very good (0,15mm Layerhight). But when Solid infill of the first Layer begins, it starts the same extrusion like the perimeters. But the more its comming to the end the more filament is extruded. Can fight it with M572 lby critical_limit - Delta Machines
