I am on board with a standardized filament packaging and I would buy almost exclusively from manufacturers that comply with standard.

Does a RAMBO controller have the necessary pins to power the servo?
There are 2 pins on the schemo labeled "Aux Power Out 5V".

I have a MendelMax 1.5 with the 8 by 8 red heat bed and a Jhead single extruder. Nema 17 motors. 100 ohm thermistors. 3 mechanical endstops.
Has anyone configured Marlin to work with this setup?
What else do I need to know to get this to print.
I have the board connected to the printer with firmware loaded and connection confirmed in Pronterface.
I can get the motors to home. But, no respons

RichRap,
Great job on both issues. I learned a lot of useful information.
I got my Mendelmax 1.5 kit about a month ago. I finally got it to print last week. The vendor promised support from unboxing to first print but dropped the ball after the hardware was screwed together.
I was lost in the woods until I found your site. It provided a wealth of information and answered a lot of questions.

Thanks, uncle_bob,
I switched the x motor to y and y to x and it seems like any motor on the y channel jitters and rumbles.
The y motor on the x channel seemed to run smoothly.
I guess there is a problem with the RAMPS board itself.
Thanks, again for your help.

Thanks uncle_bob,
I flipped the X connector to the RAMPS and adjusted the pot with a multimeter and it appears to be behaving as it should.
Adjusted the pot on the Z and it is responding to commands from Pronterface.
I tried adjusting the pots on Y axis from high to low to right on the money and all it does is grumble and vibrate.
I guess I will try changing the stepper board.
The firmware I

My kit came with an LCD panel and a dial you press to select a command.
I am using the configured Marlin firmware supplied by the vendor.
When I select the HOME command the X axis move in the direction opposite the endstop.
The y-axis jitters without moving for about 10 seconds and stops.
The z-axis seems to work correctly. It move down toward the endstops and stops when it hits.
Any ideas?

Re: kit - 10 years ago
I purchased my mendlemax 1.5 from ebay. After reading the information supplied by the seller and their promise for help and support with the build from out of box to first print I made the purchase.
The support for the hardware assembly was OK not great. When it came time for set up and calibration they were done. When I asked for help with getting it to run they said it was "complicated".

Hi, I live right outside of Philly in Wynnewood. I just finished hardware assembly on a MendelMax 1.5.
I have all of the wiring completed and I am working on configuring the Arduino Mega 2560 controller.
