I'd be happy to be a guinea pig for the second round of laser cut parts. Are you taking volunteers? -Thomee-by Thomee - General

Ok, there's an updated version of the script up at the original location, as well as in the RepRap subversion repository at The original version didn't work in AoI 2.4.1 (I coded it against 2.5), because the functions I was relying in the Extrude Tool on changed between versions. Presumably, this means that's not a tool scripts should be relying on. I learned how to construct my own triangleby Thomee - RepRap Host
Looks really good :-) Is that based off Zach's drawings, or just off the original instructable? Also, what are you using for motors? -Thomee-by Thomee - General

While working on reproducing some of the Darwin parts in AoI (see main blog post and thread in Mechanical forum for details), it became obvious that creating any of the more complex parts via boolean operations was going to run into a major painful point. Specifically, the teardrop holes that we all know and love are much more of a pain to create than simple round holes. And the hexagonal holesby Thomee - RepRap Host
In an email discussion, Adrian mentioned that the chamfered outer corners on one side of the bearing inserts are important, as it will help squeezing them into a tight fitting hole. These versions don't yet have that. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to accomplish this effectively in AoI, I'd be glad to hear them. -Thomee-by Thomee - Mechanics
As requested by Adrian on the main blog at , I've started doing AoI versions of the Darwin printed parts. The ones I've done so far are available at if anyone wants to double check my work. I've diverged from the current .stl files in a few places, where AoI's way of doing things made following them difficult, but I'm pretty sure none of the deviations will have any functional impact. Just a quick post to introduce myself before I start asking questions in assorted forums. I've been following RepRap for a couple months now. When the aluminum extruder kits were announced, that was the final straw that pushed me into getting started building one. I ordered an aluminum extruder kit, and the video which inspired the McWire repstrap was posted the next day. It looks like a pretby Thomee - General
