please dont purchase from techzone as they are not fully established yet either. Ive had issues you can go to the huxley part of this forum for those issues since I dont want to annoy everyone again with my blabber. If your looking for a nice easy kit, stick with makerbot as everyone has thsoe and noone complains about them. or makergear.by owism8 - General
Nice. When is it going to be on the market?by owism8 - Developers
Certainly true about the iRC chat, I love going there to ask questions which are urgent. So all you botmills were meant to be more than just consumers of the product, now you can become the engineers! yay!by owism8 - General
Oh and about Techzone products. They support very well, but seeing that they know there are problems with their product and they aren't sending their parts already fixed with those solutions, that doesn't show professionalism. For example they know their hot tip will ooze out because of plastic oozing around the brass tip, they told me to put a wood screw in it. Now if that was the case, wouldby owism8 - Huxley
I think my jam was due to a faster extrusion speed. Im hypothesizing that the pushing was more than what my .5mm nozzle could handle. My feedrate is set at 13 and flow rate set at 20. Before when it was working fine it was set at 9 and 16. Maybe because the plastic couldnt push out fast enough from the nozzle, this caused the melted plastic to move up the PTFE tube and go cold and jam. Whatby owism8 - Huxley
Thanks Sublime for that. Your right about that. The only reason I complain is so that others do not purchase the same thing. It is a great learning experience and Im loving every minute of it. Part of the learning experience is asking those who have done it before so that we don't have to go through it again. My hot tip just clogged so here comes another new task . Besides torching it,(iby owism8 - Huxley
So is it OK to just switch either the x or the y optos after reversing the y wire or the x wire settings, right?by owism8 - General
Greg Frost: My home is currently located Left back. So I guess I need to put the optoend on the back of the machine, no the front. Front is where the Y motor is located and thats where the Huxley instructions told me to install the y optoend. Thanks for the advice. I'll move the y opto end.by owism8 - General
Yeah the hot tip needs to also be screwedin from the top. See the photo here: The hot tip will die very soon as Ive had two die on me so far because of the plastic oozing the brass tip out of the PTFE. So I purchased another from a reprap user Cdnreprap for $45, and it works great. The firmware is also not prepared for the latest skeinforge.by owism8 - General
I think Im having the same problem. I had to draw something backwards in order for it to be printed correctly, see my post: But if I change the y axis motor wiring, wont that change the direction of the "home" Right now home is correctly bringing the base back home... so then what should I do? Thanksby owism8 - General
I dont think we need one. I've been printing the last two days using blue painters tape and ive been getting good results for the base surface. Just make sure your hottip is close to the bed. See the two prints ive done so far finally after fixing the bowden cable:by owism8 - General
THanks Gary, Do you think a ExtruderRetraction speed of 50mm/s would hurt it? The faster the better right?by owism8 - General
Thanks! @drofarts: do you use Absolute or Relative extrusion distance? Ill set it for 2.5. My feedrate is 9, flow rate 16. I set it low because I was having the pressure issues pushing on the bowden cable. Do you think I should increase it? If so by how much?by owism8 - General
The inner dimension of the tube was fine. I purchased the kit in february 2011.by owism8 - General
Hey Gary, Do you use Relative or Absolute? The bowden is working fine now but the problem was that the cable always got pushed out due to the pressure of the extrusion. You can see where I put the nails in to keep the cable from slipping. Besides that , you just have to find out how you want the extruder to sit on the table since its separate from the rest of the machine. I have it sitting iby owism8 - General
Thanks gary, Any idea on how to use OOzebane? Im thinking this might help with the screw holes.. but i have no idea about the variablesby owism8 - General
Hello All, Ive finally got my huxley to print a decent part. But to fix that I had to purchase a totally different type of hot tip, mentioned on the Below post. Also I had to put screws on each end of the bowden to ensure the cable doesnt release. All in all, Im trying to print out a prusa as soon as I can before this huxley dies on me so I at least get my money's worth. I wasted 600$ withby owism8 - General

Ok i fixed my problem finally. See my post for the results... Any suggestions about skienforge to improve the print would be appreciated!! Thanks to all of the reprapper community for your help!by owism8 - General
The reason i said wood is because I noticed the threaded rods which hold up the PEEK block get really hot, thus causing the x carriage to become flexible and thus bending upon pressure. Now I think the pressure is happening because plastic got clogged in the hot tip after cooling... how do I solve this problem? Is there any other way of keeping the hot tip attached to the carriage so that the pby owism8 - General
why such a long wait. My main thing is that I need a non-plastic design for my x carriage which can hold the adrian extruder nozzle : I dont have a wades, i sadly have a bowden extruder. So i have to work with what i have. Any help is appreciated. Anyone have a wood design of an x axis carriage? Thank you!by owism8 - General
Yes very nice printing. I agree with the x axis being backwards. What is your machine? Electronics? Setup? Is it a kit? From where? Thanksby owism8 - General
Hello All, Anyone know how to make a replica of the UP printer without being sued ofcourse. Any pointers to the wiki are appreciated. Im hitting my head on the wall every day when I see the huxley I bought from techzone, a waste of 600$. Thanks for your repliesby owism8 - General
while im on this topic... HOw do i clear a blockage in my tip?by owism8 - Developers
well as it flows backwards, it will cool and stop in the middle... Maybe causing a blockage...by owism8 - Developers
Very interesting. This would probably fix my problem of too much pressure on the hot tip since gravity is helping that to reverse. Also this would fix any overflow of plastic issues THe only thing it might not work for is multiple layers... depends on the layer thickness which is programmed right? I might as well try this with the messed up techzone huxley I have since Its pretty much uselessby owism8 - Developers
Don't purchase a huxley. Im having tremendous problems. I purchased the plastic kit and I've had a number of issues: -Wrong power supply sent initially, but fixed after I asked them -Hot tip problems - they know that their hot tip will fail and leak plastic eventually but do nothing to fix it and leave it to you to find out how to fix it. - Gear teeth were dull causing my x-axis to slip - Incompby owism8 - Huxley
