Simon,
Seems that today (11-02-2013) your website is down at:
I have ordered a few PLA rolls but can't check on status.

Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
Aha! So that's what is happening!
Indeed I can only upload a certain amount of commends to the chip when running from my host software. Then it just does nothing any more.
Any customization I could do to keep the memory used to a minimum?
The reason I went for this firmware as it was specifically designed to fit on a 168 chip..
Anyone?

RepRap Host
Yeah.. nah..
I have tried that..
Both Reprap Properties files in the directories have NumberOfExtruders set at 3.
Any sugestions on where else to look?
I have tried deleting all the Reprap related files and redoing the installation again, but that didn't help..

How much were those sprockets if I might ask?

Hi there..
Because I wanted to test my machine without an extruder I thought I'd be smart and set the NumberOfExtruders=0.
Now Reprap doesn't want to start as it doesn't accept having no extruders.. Funny that..
Even deleting all files and reinstalling doesn't help.
I have searched for any preference files, but couldn't find any.
I am using Ubuntu.
Anyone that knows where to manually adjust the s

sounds great, but I think it will be easier to manage with lots of config.h.boardulike- may make the Makefile a shade more complex but making slight alterations and creating new boards will be simpler.
I am not a software developer, but I can put my two cents in as a User..
I like the idea of being able to just make a new config file for a new board rather than having to set

Using ReplicatorG together with FiveD seems to work in first instance.. But my question now is whether there is some kind of max buffer that I am overrunning while sending from ReplicatorG to FiveD?
The following Gcode works:
G21
G1 X0 Y0 Z0 F2200
G1 X100 Y0 F2200
G1 X100.0 Y0 Z20.0 F2200
G1 X0 Y0 Z20 F2200
G1 X-10.4 Y0 F900.0
G1 X0 Y0 F2200
G1 X10.4 Y-57.4 F900.0

Well..
I just binned both Repsnapper and Reprap Host in favour of the latest version of ReplicatorG.
It is such a breath of fresh air in the arena of Host Software. Completely clean and logical to use. Easy to adapt to whatever you're running.
ReplicatorG now has Skeinforge embedded into it so really a one stop shop.
ReplicatorG now sends commands to FiveD on my Arduino 168 Diecimila that runs 3

Well.. Gentlepeople..
It was indeed a "slap on the forehead" moment today.
It seems that your wonderful software is indeed plug-and-play after all..
You just have to pay attention on what you plug and where before you play!!
I took apart the wiring and redid it again and it seems that I got the wiring for the sample code mixed up with the wiring from the actual setup and thus I had STEP and DIR s

what signal did you hook the leds to? step, dir, enable, min, max?
It's hooked up to Step for each motor. I am now assuming that the signal is too fast for my steppers to follow. might try with fiddling around with feedrates a bit more until I get some kind of response. It must be something straightforward "slap on your forehead" kind of thing as the physical setup works with

Hmm.. That only confused me more..
I attached the LEDs and they light up whenever I issue a manual move command from either Repsnapper or ReprapHost. But it seems to hang as I have to reset the Arduino to turn off the LEDs again. Motors do not move.
Even issuing the command to move just one axis causes all LEDs to all 3 driver boards to light up.
Peculiar thing is that with Reprap Host I get th

@Grogyan
Yep, I have considered them and the sprockets seem to be affordable as well. Around $7 each or so..
So might try that. Just concerned about the accuracy of them with using smaller diameter sprockets.
@Dust
That does sound very affordable indeed.
I'd need about a 3m length though which is not something that they'd stock generally.
Did you buy your sprockets there as well and if so, how m

@ Triffid_Hunter
I am using Easydriver Boards. The steppers do turn with the sample code and the same physical wiring so I assume that they are enabled. You have me doubting myself though as I am not using the Enable point on the board.
I will hook up an LED tomorrow if I can find one.
@ Architect
Will also try that tomorrow, but I don't think it should make a difference? Default settings should

@ Architect
Well. I thought I'd be clever and not change any of those settings until I see some physical output from the motors so as to make sure I don't make any mistakes that cause me to chase my tail.
So STEP_PER_MM is all set at 320.00 and MAXIMUM_FEEDRATE is 200 for X,Y and E and 100 for E.
I am guessing that that was a bad idea and should really be setting the parameters to suit my machine

Gentlepeople,
Thanks to Avrmax I got the FiveD to upload to my 168. (http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?147,33082,70321#msg-70321).
That's a milestone..
Now I need to get my host software talking to my Arduino.
So I installed both RepRap Host and Repsnapper as I was having some trouble getting RepRap Host to talk so I endeavoured to eliminate faulty host software.
However either do not seem to

Commenting out EVERYTHING did the trick!
Thanks for your help Avrmax and everyone that put their findings on this forum. Priceless!

Thanks for the quick reply Avrmax.
I have changed all the settings that you have suggested, but still get the error..
Having said that.. for some reason my avrdude is not in the directories that you suggest they should be.
I am also running 0018.. Perhaps that is the issue?
I am just uploading through Arduino IDE. Perhaps I should try it "developers style".

Hi all,
I have been looking for an affordable option to join the Z-Axis rods of my platform. They have been turned down to 8mm diameter.
The issue however is that my platform that the rods drive up and down is quite large. The rods are about 730mm apart. One is already driven, but now I need to drive the other 3 rods.
Belts are expensive and I am having a hard time finding the sprockets to fit

Hi there,
I am trying to upload the FiveD hex to my 168 chip on my Deicimilla but get a fault when uploading: "avrdude: ERROR: address 0x820003 out of range at line 726". I am assuming that this is because the hex is too big.
One of the lines in the Readme file says: * can fit onto atmega168 depending on selected options.
I have tried commenting out all the stuff that I think I can leave out to

I have downloaded the files and imported them into Solidworks. We use Solidworks at our company. I have yet to decifer the amount of parts that come into CAD as things get doubled up for some reason, but the files seem very usable.
I have also just started collecting parts for my first RepRap machine and have downloaded and imported the CAD files for the RepRap machine. I am going through the fi
