Hallo RepRap Forum,

Konnte dazu leider rein gar nichts finden.

Also falls du je mit Heizbett drucken willst, finger weg!

Hi all, by the way how do you guys insulate the E3D against the negative effects of air from the bed cooling fans (I have one fan on each side of the extruder/hotend). At 100% fan speed I have a little difficulty maintaining a steady temperature it tends to fluctuate by up to 5 degrees C.
At this stage I have just reduced fan speed to 35%, that solves the hot end fluctuations but d

Da steckt sehr viel Know How drin.

i think it could work but i doubt it works nice,
i saw this 3D doodle thing today, they basically used a normal gear
and it worked surprisingly well.
look at QU-BD Drive gear its also made like a normal gear (i think actually it is a normal gear but thats another topic)
i think they still sell it, but a mk7 Gear just works a thousand times better.
A pulley should be even worse than that so the

After big help from Hardwarekiller its clear that both Processors and all Stepperdrivers are defect.
So its basically completely broken, all other parts (D6, D1, C1 ...) are intact.
Anyway big thanks for your help!

I looked at the schematics and the Elko im talking about is C1,
its the first elko after my power supply so does it makes sense that it burns first when a short circuit happens?

Looks like quite a bit of over-engineering on Makerbot's side for just printing the standard stuff. They are practically encouraging their customers to print PLA designed their filament spool holders in a way that it would be rather difficult to fit spools from any other supplier on to. So high temperature filaments seem more or less not (yet?) to be the intended purpose for this hot en

Hey guys,
i recently burned down my Rumba Board caused by an short circuit between the fan and the Motor.
As i got a Black Rumba i can´t really see what exactly burned down, but it seems like its the first Elko (50v, 47µF) after the power supply. (or at least its something in this area)
Is that guess legit? The elko smells burned and my multimeter shows weird results (unlike the other elkos)...

Did someone see that Makerbot
got a e3d styled Extruder in their new Printers?
//Edit
note that that the drive gear, ball screw (probably?) and hotend building one unit,
while the Motor and fan making another. The Axial fan blows through the hole on just four fins.
or short, more airpressure results in a shorter cooling bridge.
but its mysterous whats between the fins and the drive gear...

i have the feeling that you (GSM) made this hotend?
beside that im always careful buying American parts.
Most of the parts i bought in US were basically in prototype status
when they started selling it.

The fact that it is made out of one piece sounds great at first glance.
But the bad heat conduction of steel could be a Problem to cool on the cold end.
I think its smarter to use Al for the cold end...
