LOL I know that reprap was there first! Reprap is always there first! What I'm saying is, with makerbot's marketshare and popularity among people like architects etc, will the reprap begin to adopt this as a standard, because currently everything's experimental Have I got this wrong, is makerbot merely putting it on sale as an experiment, or actually supporting and recommending it?by j4ysen - General
Hahah Well I guess it isn't new, but it isn't popular though.. When makerbot adopts this as their own idea, reprap will soon follow, right?by j4ysen - General
Hey Everyone, I noticed that Makerbot are making two new kinds of filaments: Flexible Dissolvable (HIPS) Which dissolved in Limonene What do we think about this? How do you think this will affect Reprap and 3d printing in general?by j4ysen - General
Hey Guys Building my first reprap, trying to make it as cheap as possible Is $100 a good deal for: - 5 Pololu Stepper drivers - Ramps 1.4 shield - Arduino mega 2560 - endstop + cables (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RAMPS-1-4-Fully-assembled-and-tested-REPRAP-MENDEL-PRUSA-3D-PRINTER-CONTROLLER-/271262722409?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item3f2884a969) While I have your attention, whatby j4ysen - General
I just found a ramps 1.4 assembled board and arduino mega, with an lcd and controller for $45. Is this too good to be true? And Yeah you're right, it isn't worth it to spend money on shippingby j4ysen - Tantillus
I'm in london, england. It's impressive that you have gotten it so low! Would it be cheaper to send a ramps or printrboard board file to a company like and hand solder the parts?by j4ysen - Tantillus
Hey everyone! I would like to build a tantillus! I have built a printrbot before but i gave it to a friend who is abroad so he cannot help me. My school could do the laser panels for me, but their replicator extruder is dead. Would anyone please print the tantillus parts for me? And how much do you want for it? haha I'm trying to get my tantillus bellow £350 or $530 Thank you for your time!by j4ysen - Tantillus
I doubt they made a slicer. I'm sure it probably will only work with the replicators and the cube. Maybe it's just so that the os will recognise the printers more and start to adopt standards for printer interfacing? lol Microsoft have no idea what's going onby j4ysen - General
Hey, I personally think that the website and the forums are outdated now. I think it would be much more friendly to new people and make it easier to get more people involved with innovation if the whole thing was redesigned, and added new things to make it easier to view information. It takes me so long to find something on the wiki! Why does the forum go down sometimes! Does nobody want to chanby j4ysen - Administration, Announcements, Policy

Is this the trinity labs one? It says triple stack.. Shame they get so hot!by j4ysen - General
Does that mean you could have a 20cm long nema 8by j4ysen - General
Hey everyone, I've been looking around for smaller stepper motors for my project. Reprap uses predominantly nema 17's, but i've found that you can have nema 08's! The problem with this is that they produce minuscule amounts of torque and would be useless. Would it be possible to increase the length of the motor? What sort of effect would this have? Thanks - Jaysenby j4ysen - General
Ahh thanks, I had stumbled on the ord bot before, but not this one!! Thank you so much for your helpby j4ysen - Developers
Hey everyone I've been designing a compact reprap, and have found that the simplest and easiest way for me to keep things compact is to use a H-bot vertically. This means that instead of having the H part on top of the bot, it would have it sideways, driving the x and z axis instead of x and y. So sort of like a prusa, except energy from the Z axis is not used to move the heavier y carriage. Myby j4ysen - Developers
Thank you so much for your help Is tantillus's firmware accelerated?by j4ysen - Tantillus
Ahh Okay thanks, how many hours would you say the printed parts would need to print? (I have to convince my teachers >< )by j4ysen - Tantillus
What nozzle size would you recommend, I have the choice between 0.35, 0.4 and 0.5?by j4ysen - Tantillus
Thanks sublime, you have designed the best reprapby j4ysen - Tantillus
Hey everybody, I've been looking to get into 3d printing, and tantillus has the right speed and quality that i want... and it looks good I was wondering if it is possible to build a tantillus for £300, my school has a makerbot and a laser cutter so there is a possibility that i could use them.. Anyone think this is possible? Random questions I have: - How does tantillus manage a bowden setuby j4ysen - Tantillus
