Hi All:
I am designing some parts of ABS that need to be cemented together. Thus I was searching for a commonly available cements to use for the purpose. Since I am printing in natural ABS, the typical black goo at the hardware was not too appealing. Instead I found the following common clear ABS cements:
Oatey 30818, All Purpose Cement for ABS, CPVC and PVC, 4 ounce container, milky clear

Hi All:
Last weekend I tried 25mm/sec (0.4mm layer), with the new 10 tooth machined pulleys. As bad as ever (on the x axis), with no backlash due to a good fit on the pulleys. Next I will try 20mm/sec. I will also loosen the x axis belt and turn up the drive current. I may have to live with 15mm/sec until I change my drive belt design to a Prusa-like x belt arrangement.
Will keep everyone poste

Hi All:
Thanks for the input, sorry to have not posted sooner. Last weekend I tried lowering my feed and flow to 15mm/s. VERY slow printing, but it eliminated the problem. Then I pulled the machine apart to put in 10 tooth machined pulleys on x and y, to see if it helps. Still not quite together and adjusted yet.
It might be helpful to know what feed/flow settings are typically achievable for a

Hi:
I am having some problems with my Mendel, and I am wondering if others do also.
I have designed some parts that are about 12mm tall. They have vertical sides. However the print quality on the sides is rather poor, leaving wavy and or tilted walls that should be straight. Through holes are also winding up at an angle, due to this drift. Please see the pictures for the results. The direction

Hi:
Many thanks to all. I think I have a lead on both things. After several more prints, I think it did not stop early. It just put the warning on the screen and stopped at the end. I presumed it stopped early. I will put a travel to 0,0 command as the last line to test it.
On the offset, it must be backlash somewhere. The display of skeinforge output does not show it. I am using a laser cut me

Hi All:
Sorry to not post sooner, but my problems are largely solved. I had originally not wanted to use v40, since it was too new. I switched to that, and with homing turned on (and firmware acceleration off), it is working. I have a few issues I would like to mention. The first is that the print stops just before the end. Please see attached image for a screen print of the results. My G code f

Hi All:
Problem may be solved...
I tried Skeinforge 40, with a fake homing command. It did not do the proper feedrate at the first z move:

Hi All:
Many thanks for the suggestions. I tried the multiply one, and it was already on. I changed the center to 100x100 and got the gcode:

Hi Bob:
I have done all this, and first z move is still too fast. I used limit x,y = 40, z=1mm/s.The gcode produced is:

Hi:
I have x, y and z on the standard Gen 3 stepper drivers. Only the extruder is Pololu. It is 1/16 stepping. I can get all to work with the host software, just not with the gcode generated in skeinforge, due to the z move issue (I think). I am just wondering of anyone has this working. I have read some gave up on the task, or edited every layer by hand (yuck...). I want to be able to print goo

Hi All:
I am trying to run a Mendel (Gen 3 electronics with wades extruder and Pololu stripboard driven extruder) with reprap host software, and use skeinforge for gcode generation. So far, it seems hopeless....
I have been working on this for a long time, and really not gotten closer. From all the descriptions, it seems others are doing it...
By comparing the gcode from repraphost and skeinfo

Problem solved..... Pilot error.....
1.) I created a gcode file from the host software several months ago. (It had the default PLA temperatures.)
2.) I ran the host software to test the extruder at the dump point. It worked, but the force was pretty weak (at 260C with ABS).
3.) I ran the code created in 1. to print something, and my stepper did not turn with enough force to move.
Duh..... I

Hi:
I am using the host firmware, with all settings as in the distribution. Is there a link to a schematic that shows the motor coils and the terminals 1A,2A,1B,2B, so I can check it?
thanks,

Hi:
I have been lurking here about one year. I have my Mendel finished, but I am having extruder troubles,
and need advice. I have searched the archives, but have not found the same problem (I think).
The pertinent facts:
1. My extruder is a Wades, stepper driven, controller v2.2.
2. I have the motherboard and extruder controller grounds tied together (did not help).
3. I do not have the 180 o

SOLVED!!!!!!!
I tried loading Python 2.6 and Skeinforge (latest version 2-24-2011) on another XP Pro machine. That one worked fine. Also, I noted that there were no references to either program in the environment or user variables.
Then I uninstalled both from the problem machine. I edited the registry and deleted all references to python and skeinforge. I edited the environment variables to de

Hi Bruce:
My directory structure matches what you show, except the top level is c:\skeinforge. I tried unzipping the skeinforge 39_reprap_python_beanshell files to a directory with the top level named as in your post. When double clicking, a DOS box appears for a few seconds and then disappears. Running from the command line and piping to a file gives the same error message I posted before.

Hello:
I have been lurking here for about a year. My Mendel is complete and almost printing. Now I am
trying to learn Skeinforge.
However, I find myself unable to get skeinforge to run. I am running a Win XP Pro laptop (corporate
with firewalls, antivirus, etc.). I have tried to install Python 3.1, 2.7 and 2.6, and the last 3
versions of Skeinforge, to no avail. Python seems to run fine o
