Thanks to you both Dust and Veesta for your help! Without you I think I would still be floundering! I printed my first object today although I have to admit it looks like a pile of ribbons because I didn't have the Platen leveled... Hopefully, the next one I make will be even better still! Not a serious error but every time I try to print something The extruder heats, but apparently not fast enby imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Dust First of all, I'd like to thank you very much for all your help. When I had the steppers out of the machine, all electronics including the display was working very well. Now that they are IN the machine is another matter. Sigh... I will be searching the other topics for possible solutions and If I can't find them, I'll open another topic on that subject. Thanks again for your help! Doby imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hey Dust Ignore everything I sent before... Did some further research and found that you have to also enable the statement "REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER" When I did this, The display started working though some information was missing from it like Extruder temp, Bed temp, Fan speed, etc... I am sure this is due to other items that have to be defined in the files. For your saby imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
Lots of good Info Dust! Will give it a try now... Thanks for the info!by imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hello All (again) It Seems I have the steppers working now (from the computer) but I can't seem to find out how to setup a 12864 display to work on the printer. Right now, getting a white screen and the rotary switch/button does nothing at all. Any ideas where/how I set this up? Thanks! Don W.by imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Dust! Thanks for the help so far! I ignored (actually disconnected) the LCD as the beeper was making a LOUD, irritating, constant BEEE... well, you know what I mean. Recompiled the most current Marlin with the most current environment. Then I accessed the RAMPS board with Pronterface and it all appears to be WORKING (YAY!) with a few exceptions. They are... 1) When changing the position of tby imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
HI Folkes I have a RepRap Prusa I3 and am trying to get my RAMPS 1.4 board to run it with. I had these same issues with the first board the company sent me. They replaced it thinking it was the board. It wasn't. After making sure many times over that the board is connected correctly, that all pins are engaged on the Arduino Mega (none bent, etc) and the stepper drivers, I compiled and uploaby imwhoim54 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hey Folkes... Having an issue with (it appears to be) my RAMPS 1.4 board. I have the Ramps and the Arduino Mega connected to my RepRap printer. I connect the USB to my computer and the Ramps boots showing the Marlin main menu. All seems to be working well with it. I connect my 12V supply to the RAMPS board and disconnect the computer and nothing happens. Black screen. The power supply is generby imwhoim54 - RAMPS Electronics
My MOM? I'll try to find a psychic to contact her because she passed like 25 years ago... I was simply following the instructions provided with the board. They show Marlin being loaded to the Arduino with nothing else installed. Then they show what the diaplay should look like like after Marlin is installed. I took it from there and installed it with and without the RAMPS 1.4 board installed toby imwhoim54 - Reprappers
Hi Folkes... I am having an issue with my RAMPS 1.4 Setup. At first, I was having a problem compiling Marlin and it was experiencing a common duplicate structure name. I was compiling under Arduino 1.6. The problem was with a structure that was apparently named the same as a struct that was already in use. I tried renaming the structure in the header file to no avail... I got past that issue byby imwhoim54 - Reprappers
Thanks! I will definitely Try this! BTW, to all.. GearBest... the folks I bought the machine from... has thrown in the flag. I sent them the files I have attached here and after reading then, apparently they had nothing else to try so They are offering a refund (If I want to send it back to China!) Shows you the extent that I have gone through to try to figure this out.. sigh...by imwhoim54 - Reprappers
Hello Folkes.. I've attached a couple pics illustrating what I have do to try and fix the problem. If anyone can think of some I have missed, Feel free to let me know! Thanks for your help so far.. It is muchly appreciated!by imwhoim54 - Reprappers
Hi FA_MAS... Thanks for the info. After tracking down a terminal program, I did everything you suggested.. even found out (I think) where the manufacturer keepss the master copy of it's firmware! But all to no avail... I DID notice how ever there is something odd about the X Axis and the Z Axis Lead screws. See I disconnect the lead screws from coupling and lift the Z Axis to disengage the leby imwhoim54 - Reprappers
I don't believe it is Marlin. In otherwords, I can't find that parameter you are talking about anywhere on thee machine. If it IS Marlin, it a customized version just for this machine (I got the machine from GearBest) In Marlin, how would I get to the parameter?by imwhoim54 - Reprappers
Hi guys (and gals?)... I have an issue... when I first got my machine put together, I had certain issues with it but finally got the solved. Using PLA so my first couple prints wouldn't stick to the substrate... that's not the issue now, we'll have bigger worries than that. Right now, the Z axis is binding big time. How do I know it's binding you ask? Took out the couplers between the lead screwby imwhoim54 - Reprappers
