Fixed my file path i was trying to pass it the wrong firmware file.by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
yeah most def not the problem. Still getting the some error Device found on COM6 Erase Flash No such file directory found I have tried it with, without the .bin and every other way i can think of. I have not a clue whats going on. The old firmware is cleared i see the correct listing under my COM port on device manager. so i know its been erased. Any ideas whats going on...?by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I am so very terrible at programming which is unfortunate. So pardon my ignorance here that is exactly what i was typing i thought .bin needed to be attached to the end of the filename for some unknown reason i will retry tonight and try a print and see if layer shift continues.by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
i have a file name "Temp" on my desktop that i put the bossac .exe file in then i extracted all the contents of your most recent update RepRap Firmware-dev is the original file name as it was from the download. When attepting this i changed the firmware file name to RepRapFirmware-1.18.1 could this be the problem. (Basically i tried default didnt work i changed name and the command and still sameby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
So i keep getting error when using bossac to write the firmware to the board. Reads Device found on COM5. Erase Flash. No such file or directory. What am i doing wrong the flash is erased per my device manager readout. I am typing the filename exactly the same as it is? Not sure?by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Okay i have rechecked everything with VERY fine detail. My Z motor pully was tight however over time has loosened up and slipped off the flat part of the motor shaft instead the set screw was on a curved part of the shaft which was causing it to slip. I am fearful of the other problems you mentioned, however i am hopeful after identifying a clear mechanical problem that this was the issue, i thby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
No improvement still layer shifting on me the as before. Any other ideas?by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I check and tightened all my pulleys i am test printing now. My problem is very much a layer shift. print seems so be going well very nice smooth lines then a random shift in layers. I will update after the attempt. Thanks for the feedback!by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I have recently been working to upgrade my delta printer from traxxis rods and roller carriages ---> linear rails and magnetic arms. After all the hardware changes i recommissioned and calibrated the printer. I think i have everything configured correctly but i am getting layer shifts in all my prints. The layer the shift occurs on is rather inconsistent. Judging the prints from when the shiftby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Rollers worked fine when I built mine you probably need to adjust the tension on the nuts as you already said you have done. I saw very little problems with the rollers and i saw large improvements without them so this might make one believe that the rollers could have been causing some of my print problems, such as effector tilt or un-level beds or layer shifts in the middle of prints. I will eby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Okay! thanks for the info DC....basically a small build volume upgrade at the cost of a new printer minus new electronics. In my opinion a scale up effort sounds like i will build and entirely new 2040 all aluminum with mag arms and carriages when i think i have got my small one perfect and the need for the investment... I really like your PCB board and how you mounted them behind your carriagesby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Does anyone know the build volume increase for a 2020? its looking like just upgrading my mini 1515 is a better idea because an upgrade to 2020 might not be very helpful if i could just build a whole new printer and have 2 because it might only be a few hundred dollars more for a new larger build.by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Great feedback from you all and i thank everyone again these discussions help me better prep for this work and helps me price the right quality stuff. It sounds like hayden huntly is the place to go for these mag arms. I am curious about some effector designs as well in order to maintain the balls at 45 like you are saying. I would also need special carrages because the spacing would need to beby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Really interesting...You think that the rails helped the most. I was thinking and pricing that same upgrade. I am curious what benefits you see for the 2040 upgrade? Does this just add weight?. I really want to upgrade to rails + magnetic arms but i might as well upgrade to 2020 because i am still using an older/smaller 1515 mini kossel. Not sure what the scope of work because other things wouldby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Thanks DC42! I always appreciate your feedback. At this point in time i believe have have corrected all my mechanical flaws and my spacing on my rods are all very similar ( i recently rebuild effector and made sure top and bottom washed are the same for the set), i have added rubber bands to squeeze the 2 rods to remove play from joints which increased my deviation of auto cal significantly i caby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Any opinions on switching to magnetic arms on a mini kossel vs traxxas/carbon fiber arms? It seems effector tilt is my biggest problem i would be in hopes this switch would combat this problem. Is there a lot of re configuring that needs to be done for this switch?by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Hi, I am still working on this issue currently. I have adjusted everything i can mechanically however after i measure all my individual probe point trigger heights and adjust the H parameter in the .bed file i still cant even stick a print. My plans are to very slightly adjust the H parameters further at each probe point until i can get the majority of them to snag the paper test at z-height =0by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I wanted to Chime in here mainly because i am having the very same problems still... While i can stick prints most of the time now my bed is still not level. I have tried measuring Z-Heights at each probe point and adjusting for effector tilt using DC's differential IR probe. However I usually make the problem worse and not better... I believe it is something mechanical because i am having the sby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
After some more research i have come to the conclusion my extruder needed to be re-calibrated. I have calibrated it and noticed it was "over" extruding plastic before based on the measurements so this was likely my problem. This over extrusion was probably also the reason my top layers have been finishing rough and not smooth. The over extruded plastic had no where else to go but up which gets inby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
So i have corrected my leveling problems (for the most part) There are a few areas on the bed that are a tad bit off and you can notice this from the under side of finished prints however I can stick prints all over my bed just fine to get the shiny finish off the PEI cover build plate. My current issue i am having is my nozzel is dragging through the print and snagging on already printed PLA inby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I significantly increased my printing temp for my bed which helped start sticking prints at least to the point where I can finish a print if i get a good first layer. now i am working on getting a level bed with the IR sensor now... I can still see small level issues that end up not sticking prints, in some areas of the bed i am going to re calibrate my Z-height and H parameters to see if this wby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
So I too am struggling with bed adhesion i recently bought some PEI and it worked great and left prints with a manufacture finish and with great adhesion after the part cooled it pops right off... However i changed some things to get a better bed level calibration and now even after treating the bed with some acetone and a cloth I just cant stick anything. Do you print on glass with this sugarby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I have been having some trouble with my mini kossel and prints sticking to my print bed. I am using an IR sensor and PEI painted black. I have printed before and got great adheasion to the PEI. However now after changing some things to correct for effector tilt to get a better level bed my prints do not stick to the bed at all the extruder plastic just curls up around the nozzel. Is this a bedby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I agree the PEI is the best option however i have this very problem trying to compensate for my bed with the H parameter so i cant stick anything really because i cant auto calibrate correctly yet :/by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Thanks nebbian, ill keep this in mind I think my problem is what DC42 is describing actually. I added the rubberbands and printed joint holders to my rods (these came with my kit but i was not using). Also I think the push to fit tubing is tugging on the effector causing this tilt, resulting in the trigger height variation. I am going to rewire/retube and remount the extruder to deliver from theby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
So after i remeasure and compensate with the H parameter then i check zero after an auto-cal my paper snags at zero but HARDLY snags... So it seems almost as if this is still not enough to squish the first layer (usually only in the middle the skirt prints fine) is there something else i could be missing to make this happen?by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
Would more probe points help? i just cannot stick a print using the H parameter unless i over compensate to move the nozzle down enough to squish the print i am going to remeasure z-height and individual probe point trigger heights using the paper snag G92 set and probe (at that point)by Ace67aod - Delta Machines
once i set Z0 with the paper test using G92 i probed that point using s30 then i moved to the next point and repeated (snagged paper then set zero and then probed) i did this 4 times then averaged the results and set the H parameter in the bed file. Then i start up the printer home and auto-calibrate usually 2 times to confirm consistent results. then i attempt to print. Should i reset the configby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
I must be doing other things wrong because i have done all this and the result is usually a perfect skirt but then the inside of the print wont even stick i just get a ball of plastic at the nozzle. Could I not be snagging my paper correctly? how tight does the nozzle need to grab the paper? Would this even make a difference? My belts are tight and my standard deviations for each probe points aby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
My question is that my nozzle is actually higher than this z height difference that is being measure by the probe ( as you can see by looking at the paper test at probe points)...so is the goal to have 0 deviation from z-trigger set height when i run the check bed? When i adjust for this by adding the H parameter this makes things worse because i have to add a lot more than just the probe diffeby Ace67aod - Delta Machines
