Does anyone have any idea where to look? I am clueless and could really use some help.by labmat - RepSnapper
Hello All, I'm trying to get my new Mendel with RAMPS up and running and was told RepSnapper was pretty cool so I thought I'd try it out but I'm having troubles compiling the latest RepSnapper I get the following error. ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** Error 1 I'm a mechanical engineer by training and know just enough to get frustrated but this is beyondby labmat - RepSnapper

it might not be a bad idea to check your cable. I cant tell you how many times I've changed out a component only to find out in the end it was a bad cable.by labmat - Controllers
Grael, Thanks for the information, I am going to have to do some further investigation into what it will take to make this happen. I currently have zero experience with programming as I am a mechanical designer and haven't really had a need to learn any kind of programming. Stage accuracy is not a problem for me as the X-Y stage I have is from a piece of high performance semiconductor equipmenby labmat - Controllers

Nophead, After looking closely at the schematic you are correct pin D14 controls the power supply; I missed that earlier. Now as far as programming the Arduino; I'm having some trouble here. I performed the Sanguino mod to the Arduino software aby labmat - Controllers
I did a continuity test and the pins are connected. What I just figured out if I bypass the 10K ohm resistor (R18) by shorting the pads the power supply fires up. What would be causing this, is it safe to remove this part and short the two pads?by labmat - Controllers
Hello all, I am having trouble with the reprap motherboard 1.2 and my atx power supply. The reprap won't turn the power supply on. I verified that the power supply will turn on by shorting pins 14 and 15 on the atx power supply connector. but when I connect it to the motherboard and flip the switch nothing happens. I have also tried a couple of other atx power supplies and none of them workeby labmat - Controllers
Good Morning! I'm wondering if anyone has tried to use an extruder controller to drive one or more of the X-Y-Z motion axis with a DC servo motor and a quadrature encoder for position feedback. I would think it should be possible, one would really only be concerned with how much current the DC motor draws. What do you guys think? P.S. when I talk about DC Servo Motors I do not mean hobby stylby labmat - Controllers
Haloscope, Thanks for letting me know the RSS feeds are working now, I used iWeb to create the site and didn't transfer the whole directory structure because I didn't think it was necessary; but apparently it is. haloscope Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- it looks like your website's RSS feed is broken.by labmat - Reprappers
Hey guys! I just wanted to let you all know about the blog I've setup for my RepRap build. Swing by and check it out if you have a chance.by labmat - Reprappers
Hey Larry, I have both the software and the original computer that shipped with the machine. I do however need to do some work to reconnect the motion controller to the servo amps as the last person to touch the machine hacked into the cabling with a pair of side cutters.by labmat - Controllers
The card I have is an MEI PCX/DSP programmable 8 axis motion controller. You program it in C/C++ but since I'm a mechanical designer I know nothing of programming. One could design a program to convert the G-Code to something the MEI could understand. You can look over the datasheet if you like. I think I may see if I can pull one of my software comrades into this project.by labmat - Controllers
Thanks for all of the links guys; lots of good info out there. I think I'm going to give the Geckodrives a shot. I would like to keep the servo motors and cabling intact as I still have the original servo amps and PC based MEI motion controller. It would be rather simple for me to swap the cabling between the geckodrives and original servo amps so I can use other CNC software that supports anby labmat - Controllers
Hello Everyone, I'm new to the RepRap / Makerbot community. I recently came in possession of a machine with a high precision X-Y Stage with 300mm of travel in both axes. The stage has linear ball bearing slides, 24V DC servos, ball bearing leadscrews, and rotary encoders for positional feedback. This machine is a perfect platform for creating a RepRap/MakerBot. I would like to know if anyoneby labmat - Controllers
