On the aluminium extrusion supplier side, I just received an order from KJN (discovered on the wiki they sells to individuals, prices seems correct), and I'm starting to love that over the threaded rods... At £2.90/m, most of the cost was the t-nut (but their basic t-nut can be inserted in the slot at anytime). I also ordered an handle to carry the reprap ^^by Emmanuel - General Mendel Topics
Today I brought the prize to our makerspace (nybi.cc) It will spur a reprap built by/for everyone ! (Probably a Prusa, with a vertical axis ? )by Emmanuel - Developers

Just to say that in my obsession to make a folding reprap, I'll try to build my latest version based on 20x20 T-slot ! FoldaRap But feedback/suggestion about it (and or the aluminium extrusion, and/or suppliers) are welcome before I buy the needed parts (hoping I won't forgot t-nuts or something that will make multiple orders).by Emmanuel - FoldaRap
Both the Ronthomp model and the Mendel90 are noted on my list since I saw them and will to be added to the next revision (when I'll take a little time to make the 3.3 update...). Thanksby Emmanuel - General

Same has Richrap but for PP, does anyone had tested it extensively ? I ask cause I may have a friendly industrial who will give me a roll of 3mm PP. Since it's one of the material suggested to extrude through a recyclebot from common bottles, I assumed its possible to safely print with it, but didn't found much informations about that.by Emmanuel - Polymer Working Group
Quotebrnrd Very nice design Emmanuel. With your Vert X axis configuration, what what is your build height? In theory I have the same build height, or maybe even a little more but that depends also of the hotend, and the v6 is quite long. But I mostly forget the fan, and it bump on the wooden plate that hold my gen6 (at z = 60-70mm maybe ^^'), so I'll try to mount it on a side of the machine instby Emmanuel - Developers
haa I didn't seen that the thread had a second page, but wanted to reply mostly because today I finally been able to print with my VertX mod that integrate this idea I made no calculations or else at the base of this choice, just liked how it moves and wanted to try it. Will follow attentively this part of the discussion (and/or may post also about test prints)by Emmanuel - Developers
Months ago, theses two topic helped me a lot to get started with skeinforge : Setting up Skeinforge for the first time Skeinforge 40 setup notes and just in case that can be useful to someone (even if a profile is quite machine-specific), I putted all my settings in a google spreadhseet : ;by Emmanuel - Skeinforge

Quotekevinkline4124 I manually move the M 106 command in the gcode to right before bridges or small shapes (M 107 will turn it back off). I am hoping to be able to make the process automatic at some point in the future. You can add/use the cool_start.gcode and cool_end.gcode files associated with the cool plugin of skeinforge, it will start the fan at least for the small shape For my start-upby Emmanuel - General
@EtherDais no problem @Andrew Diehl, I didn't knew this one, but will add it too. It's look interesting btw in the alu-slot kind of bot.by Emmanuel - General
Just an observation, in favor of vertical axis : (hit pause) The vertical configuration of x-axis seems to be quite common in the industry (due to probably some good reasons) Someone may have said that somewhere, but that hit me when looking at the video, and thinking back at all the 2D printer interior I remember. I saw a similar graphic of the linux distro's that was part of my inspiration, but this one is way more huge ôo (just wait some years and we will have perhaps as many reprap ^^)by Emmanuel - General

(Just seen it on Hackaday) I missed that you made a working firmware ! I believed it was the biggest gap to print with a deltabot... And when reading that the laser attempt wasn't as good as expected I thought "lets put a bowden on it !!" ^^ (in case a little stepper is to heavy for the arms)by Emmanuel - Delta Machines
Oops, I was able to open it in Inkscape thus I uploaded it (even if Firefox didn't displayed it without a missing plugin). Indeed the svg export from illustrator is not so straightforward, not used to these options... (I tried different things). Thanks for the pdf, I forgot it also work for vector. Nice if you plan to use it for a prezi ^^ I'll add the .ai file (CS4 version, or did you need an oby Emmanuel - General

Ok now I can confirm some distances Minus the rod diameter (~8mm) it's ~29mm center to center (but may vary from machine to machine I suppose) My actual extruder+carriage is about 80mm tall : (95mm if you count the heatsink) And the motor is not centered This discussion permitted me to see that I'm wrong in my vertical placement of the x-rods, behind the z-rods, that center the hot-end buby Emmanuel - Developers
