I knew there would be some issues here. I need to look through again as I only listed needing 1 2pos terminal block instead of 3. I don't like the way they fit on the board, so I am going to change it to a single 6pos. Also, my Arduino Mega shows up today so I should be able to sort out the header issues soon along with testing the new MOSFETs I received. Hopefully an update will be out soon.by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Took my own advice and posted it here. So what would be the steps to have it listed next to the RS list on the wiki ^^by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
I asked this over in the RAMPS forum and received a few conflicting answers. This is probably more appropriate for this forum. RAMPS requires the use of the STP55NF06L TO-220 N-type MOSFET. The problem is that it is a special order through digikey which is a major electronics supplier here in the US. The STP55NF06 is a stocked product but my real question is what the true requirements for thiby Chris Martin - Controllers
Awesome. Thanks. I am not electronics savvy enough to know if that mattered.by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Saw that, not quite what I am looking for. As you obviously noticed, the posted mentioned that the MTP30N06 he asked about is obsolete at the time of posting. I am looking for a current model or at least the specs that are important.by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Great work. I noticed a lot of questions for this over the last several weeks. Glad to see Reprap crossing continents.by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Had the same issue and finished the BOM for the main board today. It's hereby Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Yea, I know where to get the exact one from a few places. I am looking for a comparable one that Digikey specifically keeps in stock.by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Ok, I saw at least a few other people looking for a US version of the list shown here. I thought I would put together that list so people had a one stop shop for a RAMPS kit from digikey. Here is the list in the same order that is shown on the RAMPS wiki page. I also attached the excel sheet for easier copy/paste features. The only issue I currently have with this list is the "power jack" bby Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Can someone with more electronics knowledge than me recommend a different MOSFET for the RAMPS board? It looks like the STP55NF06L is completely out of stock from Digikey. 〈=en&WT.z_cat_cid=Dxn_US_US2011_Catlink&name=497-6742-5-ND Anyone who can recommend a product that will perform the same will be greatly appreciated.by Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
Has anyone put together a quick BOM for RAMPS via digikey or others. Some forum and google searching turned up nothing. Just wondering if I should bother. I know of this link (https://secure.reichelt.de/?;ACTION=20;LA=5010;AWKID=13322;PROVID=2084) but this is almost useless for US builders ($60 shipping). Something US based that already has most of the parts preloaded would be helpful to builby Chris Martin - RAMPS Electronics
So here is my rough BOM. I know there are some estimates in there but I just want to make sure I am on track and haven't missed much. This doesn't go into much detail but everyone seems to know what goes into a vitamins/printed parts kit. For example, I didn't include the extruder itself because it seems to come with all of the printed parts kits. Does this look right? I am looking for a gooby Chris Martin - Reprappers
Thanks, that seems to be the same conclusion I see a lot of people come to. Time to finish up my BOM.by Chris Martin - Reprappers
Wow, excellent resource. I feel a lot more comfortable with a prusa build at this point. I guess my last question is about electronics. I noticed that the gen6 seems to have some limitations compared to the RAMPS setup but is there any major worries I will run into (or worse, future expansion) that I will run into with Pololu, Ramps, Gen3, or Gen6?by Chris Martin - Reprappers
It seems the prusa is the hot model for first time builds, but how does it really differ. It states it is faster to print the the Mendel and is cheaper to build. Are there many disadvantages? I noticed the documentation is a little light compared to the Mendel so that worries me slightly. I was thinking about Gavin the hot end made at work but if I can find it for the right price maybe I will juby Chris Martin - Reprappers
Hey everyone, I have been following the idea of 3D printers for a while and feel like I finally hit gold with rerap.org. I am ready to get started on this project but I have a question. Where should I start? Electronics? Frame assembly? Extruder? I have a good mechanical engineering background, I am well versed in 3D solids modeling and I have done PCB assembly before ( plus my dad has beenby Chris Martin - Reprappers
