Solved. Got a new 2560 mega board, flashed it, plugged the ramps into it and it's back to working.by newrapper - RAMPS Electronics
I know why it won't connect, but I need help on what to fix, replace to get it back working. In short, I accedently left a bear wire of the power supply that runs the fan for the new E3D I just installed. It touched the power supply metal outside and everything stopped. The green light goes on, but the board will not connect. Ramps 1.4 with mega 2560 r3. Any and all help would be appreciated.by newrapper - RAMPS Electronics

One of my terminal block connections from my power supply melted and I don't have power to my heated bed. I can't seem to find a source for the connecter plug in. Anyone know where to get one? Ramps 1.4.by newrapper - RAMPS Electronics
I got this compile error and don't have any idea how to correct it. SdFat.cpp:2693:26 error: variable "crctab" must be const in order to be put into read-only section by means of '_attribute_((progmem))' I am trying to get my lcd to work. Any one know? The answer is in the following post in the Firmware - mainstream and related support forum:by newrapper - RAMPS Electronics
Keith, did you disable the eeprom file before reflashing th ramps? If you remember, I told you that you can't change the ramps after you have uploaded repetier firmware with out disabling the eeprom. Otherwise, when you test it after you think you have changed it, it will give you the same results because the file really hasn't been change. My machine is now running perfectly.by newrapper - Firmware - mainstream and related support
1- ramps 1.3 and 1.4 are the same basic electronics. They are different in their physical composition. Type 33 in configuration.h. 2- you need to get the host and firmware communicating. One o the biggest mistakes is not setting the baud rate the same in the host and the firmware. Again, configuration.h and the host. 3- check the wires on the motors to make sure they are in pairs. I had a similar problem over the last few days. I posted my inquiry in the Firmware - mainstream and related support forum and received one answer within 24 hours. It was all I needed. This problem isn't repetier specific. It can be caused by at least one of three or more different things, or a combo of them. End Stops. Are they installed correctly and working? Great news. I got up this morning and disconnected the z axis threaded rods from the motors, opened up pronterface and connected to the printer. Then I tested the movement up and down on the z and the steppers worked for all commands. Problem solved.by newrapper - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Thanks, you help got them moving. Now, they go up but not down. It only goes up at the home command and doesn't react at all to the other z commands in pronterface. M119 reads x_min:L y_min:L z_min:L, M114 reads X:0.00 Y:0.00 Z:0.00 E:0.00. The extruder sits right in the middle of the x axis, the heat bed sits right in the middle of the y axis and the x axis carrier sits at the top of the z rodsby newrapper - Firmware - mainstream and related support
I posted this on the ramps forum and got no response. I have run the ramps test program and everything works fine, yet after I loaded up Repetier firmware and connected to the printer with Pronterface, the z motors didn't respond. I then attached one z motor to the x stepper driver and the other to the y and the motors worked. When I connected the x or y motor to the either z stepper driver pinsby newrapper - Firmware - mainstream and related support

Thanks for your help. I researched EEPROM MODE and I think I've got it. I change the configuration.h EEPROM_MODE from 1 to 0 and recompile. Then to change it back, I change the 0 to 2 to match the EEPROM.h and it should re-activate it.by newrapper - Repetier
Ubuntu 13.4, Arduino 1.0.3 ramps, mega 2560. Repetier 83c firmware.by newrapper - Repetier
I followed the instructions to compile repetier 83 firmware from the web site and set the baudrate at 250000 in the configuration.h file, compiledand uploaded it and tried using repetierhost to connect. It didn't work. Then I tried pronterface, which I had connected with to run the ramps test file, and it wouldn't connect. I did some research and determined that I needed to change the baudrate. I am a newbee and need some help. I have built an I3 and am trying to flash my ramps 1.4 mega r3 with Repetier firmware. It compiles to the last few line of the repetier.pde file and the gives me the error code : /usr /share/ arduino / Repetier.pde:2675: undefined reference to 'osAnalogInputChannels'.
