Well a few updates: - from browsing the interwebs, the problem with non moving/ hectical moving of a motor is represented by a failed motherboard (read stepper driver) directly on the board - i tried uploading JUST the bootloader onto Atmega 2560, no success - i did not try uploading bootloader to the Ender 3 board, since I wanted to test the ability to programme anything on bunch of Atmega 25by welo78 - Printing
Hello, I just assembled a Ender 3 but immediately after I got it I opted for upgrading the firmware via a USBtinyISP. Unfortunately after a few minutes of uploading (Marlin 1.1.9) it said that the upload failed. When I was 100% sure I soft bricked the machine, the firmware was there ! It actually managed to write to the board. I wanted to dial in the extruder so I heated up and wanted to extrudeby welo78 - Printing
Hello, after purchasing Prusament and trying to print with Flex3Drive extruder I started to have jamming/clogging issues. Since I was using a genuine e3d V6 except the chinese heatbreak (which broke when hot tightening) , we (me and Flex3Drive creator) thought that it might be caused due to bad finish of the inner bore of heatbreak. Since the chinese e3d's have 0 quality control I tried polishiby welo78 - Printing
Hi recently I bought a second Ramps 1.6 (ramps 1.4 with mosfets and stuff) to have a spare and oh boy did I bought it right in time. My last board (same as the new one) shorted out while trying to figure out the vref on DRV8825 drivers. I changed the board, drivers (it fried two of my TMC2130 drivers), cables all just not the extruder motor. On this new board I cant get 1/8 stepping and idk why.by welo78 - RAMPS Electronics
Hey thanks for the reply. I have a video because one video says more than thousand words. As you can see from the video above, it moves UP a "layer" but it moves too much and starts to have too large of a gap on each "slice" or layer. I have a 8mm lead screw with pitch of 2, just like you said in your post. And 1.8 motors rated for 2A. I left the jumpers on the board in all positions since Iby welo78 - Reprappers
Ok I found some information regarding the TMC2130 stepping. TMC2130 stepping settings Seems like you do not actually use the 256 (interpolating) stepping when calculating the steps needed. Since it uses 1/16 stepping interpolated to 256. The correct math should look like this. Can anybody confirm this ? P.S. It does make sense when I calculate my X and Y stepping being circa 100. I do not think underextrusion is the problem, first layer on glass is flawless. Sticks great and has a smooth finish. The problem is as the print gets higher ... the problems start rougly 5mm from bed. I use mk8 extruder in bowden setup. TMC2130 is used on all axis even extruder with stealthchop ON and hybrid/spreadcycle off. Like I said before the gaps are not that it does not extrude properlby welo78 - Reprappers
Hello, since building a new 3D printer with RAMPS 1.6 and TMC2130 I cannot wrap my head around an issue that I have whilst printing calibration cubes. When I try to print a hollow 20 mm cube, watching the cube as it begins to shape circa 5mm from bottom layer, it stops "pushing" or "bonding" the outher shell layers on top of each other but it rather bridges from one corner to the other.
